Job description

Overview

As Operations Lead you will lead the operational aspects of biochar carbon removal projects.

You have previous proven experience in Carbon Removal Standards & Methods as well as Carbon Removal project development. Your guidance and expertise will ensure a efficient support to our clients to build a strong supply of Carbon Removal Certificates. You will work closely with the development team to continuously improve our digital tools and develop guidance and knowledge sharing materials for customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of new biochar projects across India.
• Manage the relationship with our stakeholders, implementing partners and supply providers (FPOs, NGOs, food processing businesses, fertiliser companies, etc).
• Manage the operational aspect of projects, ensuring compliance with our processes as well as standards and methodologies. This includes project preparation, project start-up, operations and control system.
• Responsible for organising training programs for our implementing partners.
• Responsible for collecting, monitoring data from projects.
• Work closely with the team to coordination with the Standard bodies for methodologies, project registration and validation as well as issuance and verification.
• Support the software development team. This to ensure an efficient supply process while meeting standards requirement as well as customer’s needs.
• When required, you will contribute to the communication on topics related projects operations and supply.
• You will be responsible for the development of guidance and learning content materials to support our customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Sustainability, Climate change or Carbon mitigation field. A Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Carbon Market related industry, preferably on the supply side
• A proven track record of success in Carbon Removal project development using Standards such as EBC, Verified Carbon Standard, Puro.Earth
• Deep understanding of Biochar Carbon Removal Standards (Puro.Earth, Verified Carbon Standard, EBC)
• Experience in Life Cycle Analysis is an added advantage
• Industry-relevant connection with standards bodies, potential clients and relevant stakeholders
• Fluent English, excellent Oral and written skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-changing organisation.
• Execution-oriented with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects.
• Passionate about sustainability, fighting against the climate crisis, and improving people's lives.
