Job summary

CarbonGuru in Mumbai is seeking an Associate for the Founders' Office to help run operations and execute strategic initiatives. You will build data pipelines, maintain trackers, and develop AI-enabled workflows to increase speed and transparency across projects.

This internship offers cross-functional exposure across agriculture, climate, and carbon markets, with mentorship from the founders and potential transition into a leadership role.

About Us

CarbonGuru is a climate-tech venture developing agriculture-based carbon removal projects (e.g., biochar, regenerative practices) with Indian smallholder farmers as stewards of the movement. We design and execute high-integrity carbon removal projects that deliver measurable benefits for farmers, markets, and the planet. We work at the intersection of agriculture, climate, and carbon markets to build scalable, ground-up run, and farmer-centric climate solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Execution

• Build and maintain data pipelines, trackers, and dashboards that give the founders a live view of project performance
• Run project management against SOPs, and improve those SOPs as ground reality changes
• Train implementation partners and field teams on process, tools, and data discipline
• Deliver on targets within deadlines across multiple parallel workstreams
• Build and deploy AI-enabled workflows for faster and more transparent operations

Go-to-Market Strategy

• Own the go-to-market strategy for CarbonGuru's carbon removal and agri by-product offerings
• Frame and test commercial hypotheses, then scale them on the strength of evidence
• Run primary and secondary research across buyers, competitors, and standards to sharpen positioning
• Identify and articulate value gaps, and deliver those findings to internal teams and external stakeholders in a form they can act on

Sales Support

• Work the full sales cycle for carbon credit and by-product buyers — prospecting, first touch, qualification, proposal, and close
• Own follow-up discipline across the pipeline: every conversation tracked, every next step scheduled, every loop closed
• Manage accounts post-signature — delivery updates, reporting cadence, and renewal conversations
• Build sales collateral and case studies that turn field results into buyer-ready proof

Hiring & Team Support

• Grow CarbonGuru's employer brand and visibility to attract stronger candidate pipelines
• Improve screening and grading processes so good candidates are found faster and assessed consistently
• Assist across interviewing, offer coordination, and onboarding
• Help set up SOPs and document new processes across projects and teams

• The ability to learn and teach — incredibly fast
• A deep passion for our projects and for farmer-climate solutions
• High loyalty to the team
• The ability to execute fast and actively move metrics

Educational Background

• Open to all fields and backgrounds
• Past experience in lean startups working on hard and unstructured problems is encouraged to apply
• Strong interest in agri-business, sustainability, and carbon markets, or related fields is preferred

Technical Capabilities

• Past experience in building operations SOPs and actively contributing to process improvement
• Google Sheets/Docs is a must
• Most important: must have built high-impact, real-world AI projects, and demonstrate clear intent to master Claude Cowork and Claude Code for process optimization and innovation

Language Skills

• Fluency in English and Hindi is mandatory
• Marathi is a plus
