Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in any discipline.

• Working knowledge of KYB/KYC documentation and due diligence.
• Exposure to VCIP or video-based identity verification preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel/Sheets).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Validate and verify merchant KYB/KYC documents (PAN, GST, CIN, bank proofs, address proofs, beneficial ownership).
• Conduct risk assessment of merchant websites and apps before and during onboarding.
• Perform VCIP sessions with merchants and record outcomes accurately.
• Escalate discrepancies or failed verifications per SOPs and RBI timelines.
• Maintain daily trackers and collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Category, Tech, and Finance teams.

About the Role :-

This is an individual contributor role responsible for validation and verification of merchant KYB/KYC documents,

risk assessment of merchant websites and applications, and execution of the Video Customer Identification

Process (VCIP) for online merchant onboarding. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment on

risk and compliance parameters, and the ability to work within defined SLAs to ensure accurate and timely

merchant processing.

Key Responsibilities

Merchant KYB/KYC Validation & Risk Assessment

• Validate and verify merchant KYB and KYC documents such as PAN, GST, CIN, bank proofs, address proofs, and beneficial ownership details
• Cross-check submitted documents against regulatory and internal compliance checklists for authenticity and completeness
• Identify discrepancies, mismatches, or forged/tampered documents and elevate for further investigation
• Ensure merchant entity details are correctly captured and updated across internal onboarding systems/tools
• Conduct risk assessment of merchant websites and mobile applications prior to and during onboarding, reviewing content for prohibited or restricted categories, policy violations, and regulatory non-compliance
• Assess look-and-feel, product listings, pricing, refund/return policies, and contact details for authenticity, and flag high-risk merchants, suspicious business models, or fraud indicators to the reporting manager/Risk team

VCIP (Video Customer Identification Process) :-

• Conduct VCIP sessions with merchants/authorized signatories as per defined SOPs and regulatory guidelines
• Verify identity, liveness, and document authenticity in real time during the video verification call
• Accurately capture and record VCIP outcomes, and escalation discrepancies or failed verifications appropriately
• Ensure VCIP process adherence to RBI/regulatory timelines and internal quality benchmarks

General Operations:-

• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance checklists for every merchant case
• Ensure all cases are processed within defined SLA/TAT
• Maintain quality benchmarks as defined by audits and QA reviews
• Maintain daily trackers/logs of assigned, completed, and pending cases, and escalations
• Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, Category, Tech, and Finance teams as needed to resolve cases

Required Skills & Qualifications:-

• Bachelor's degree (any discipline), or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in merchant onboarding, KYC/AML, risk operations, or related fields
• Working knowledge of KYB/KYC documentation and regulatory due diligence requirements
• Exposure to VCIP or video-based identity verification processes preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Google Sheets, etc.)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with a process-driven and risk-aware mindset
