Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.

What will your day look like?

As an Ops Analyst - Payments, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading complex payment investigations by analyzing high-value and escalated payment discrepancies across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Driving risk and compliance excellence by ensuring all investigations adhere to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and audit standards, thereby minimizing financial and reputational risk.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders across Operations, Compliance, banking partners, and clients to resolve critical payment issues and effectively manage escalations.
  • Mentoring and supporting team members by reviewing case quality, providing guidance to junior analysts, and fostering continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

  • Identifying process gaps and opportunities for automation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement, while supporting initiatives that enhance service delivery and overall business performance.
What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in payments, transaction processing, or banking operations within the banking, fintech, or corporate treasury sector.
  • Strong knowledge of payment operations and regulatory requirements, including AML, KYC, OFAC, and data privacy standards, with a demonstrated commitment to compliance and risk management.
  • Proven experience in investigating payment discrepancies, resolving transaction exceptions, and managing escalations, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to accurately review, analyze, and interpret transaction records, supporting documentation, and system-generated data.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Technology teams, as well as with external partners.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, payment tracking tools, case management systems, and transaction processing platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or similar applications.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA with a focus on Operations, Financial Services, or Strategy will be an added advantage.
