Job summary

Vimson Derma in Ahmedabad, India seeks an experienced Purchase Manager to lead end-to-end procurement of RM and PM, manage vendors, and optimize costs. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, commerce, or engineering with mobile knowledge in procurement.
• 4–5 years of experience in procurement and stores, preferably cosmetics, pharma, FMCG, or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of RM/PM procurement, vendor development, and contract management.
• Experience with inventory management, FIFO/FEFO, and warehouse operations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, email communication, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage procurement of Raw Materials and Packing Materials per production forecasts.
• Develop and manage vendor relationships, negotiate prices, terms, and contracts.
• Ensure timely material availability to avoid production stoppages.
• Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, R&D, and Operations for specs and approvals.
• Monitor inventory with Stores to maintain optimum stock and reorder levels.
• Oversee storage practices, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and traceability.
• Maintain procurement docs: GRN, PO, invoices, and records.
• Evaluate supplier performance on quality, delivery, pricing and service.
• Implement cost-control initiatives and alternate sourcing to reduce costs.
• Ensure GMP, ISO, and regulatory procurement compliance.
• Manage Stores team for material receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation.
• Prepare periodic procurement status, stock, supplier performance, and cost-savings reports.

Description

As a Purchase Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end procurement of Raw Materials (RM) and Packing Materials (PM), vendor management, cost control, and inventory coordination with stores and production. You will ensure timely availability of materials, optimal stock levels, quality compliance, and cost-effective purchasing to support uninterrupted production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• -Plan and manage procurement of all Raw Materials and Packing Materials as per production requirements and forecasts.


• -Develop and manage vendor relationships, negotiate prices, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and quality assurance.


• -Ensure timely material availability to avoid production stoppages or delays.


• -Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, R&D, and Operations for material specifications, approvals, and new vendor development.


• -Monitor inventory levels in coordination with Stores to maintain optimum stock, safety stock, and reorder levels.


• -Oversee storage practices to ensure proper handling, labeling, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and material traceability.


• -Ensure procurement documentation, GRN, PO, vendor invoices, and records are accurate and maintained systematically.


• -Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, pricing, and service.


• -Implement cost control initiatives, alternate sourcing, and value engineering to reduce procurement costs.


• -Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, and regulatory procurement requirements.


• -Manage the Stores team to ensure proper material receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation.


• -Prepare periodic reports on procurement status, stock levels, vendor performance, and cost savings.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• -Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, or related field (MBA in Supply Chain preferred).


• -4-5 years of experience in procurement and stores management, preferably in cosmetics, pharma, FMCG, or manufacturing industry.


• -Strong knowledge of Raw Materials and Packaging Materials procurement.


• -Experience in vendor development, negotiation, and contract management.


• -Knowledge of inventory management, FIFO/FEFO, and warehouse operations.


• -Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, email communication, and documentation.


• -Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.


• -Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
