Job summary

DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC seeks a seasoned Head of BESS Manufacturing in Bengaluru to lead end-to-end operations for battery energy storage systems, driving safety, quality and cost efficiency. The role demands 15–20 years in manufacturing, with exposure to batteries or energy systems, and leadership of large facilities.

You will define production strategies, guide cross-functional teams, and oversee KPI-driven performance such as OEE and cycle time, while ensuring regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering.
• 15–20 years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with lithium-ion battery systems or energy storage is preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations for BESS, including assembly, integration, testing, and dispatch.
• Develop production strategies to meet capacity, cost and delivery targets.
• Ensure strict compliance with quality, safety and regulatory standards.
• Drive continuous improvement via Lean, Six Sigma, automation.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain and R&D for optimization and NPI.
• Track plant metrics (OEE, yield, cycle time, downtime).
• Manage vendor development and localization initiatives.
• Build and lead high-performing manufacturing teams.
