Job summary

Tekskills Inc. in Bangalore, India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Motor Control) to design and implement firmware for motor controllers (BLDC/PMSM/Induction) and contribute to power electronics hardware integration.

The role requires 5–8 years of experience and a strong foundation in embedded C. You will work with FOC, 6-step commutation, and stepper control, plus MATLAB/Simulink modelling for power electronics applications.

Qualifications

• Experience in motor controller firmware development for BLDC/PMSM/Induction motors.
• Exposure to power electronics hardware development and debugging with oscilloscope/current probes.
• Knowledge of FOC and 6-step commutation methods.
• Stepper motor control experience.
• Experience in motor control parameter tuning and related algorithms.
• MATLAB/Simulink modelling for power electronics based applications.
• Experience in LV, HV applications in home appliances, automotive, etc.
• Embedded C proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex-M/A microcontrollers for modules or complex projects.
• Design, review and code programs as per project specifications.
• Guide team technically by providing resolutions and support.
• Adhere to defined processes and systems.
• Interact with onsite team/customers for issue resolution via email/meetings.
• Report status to Technical Architect per defined process.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for motor controllers (BLDC/PMSM/Induction).
• Debug power electronics hardware with oscilloscope and probes.
• Implement and tune FOC and 6-step control methods.
• Handle stepper motor control tasks.
• Tune motor control parameters and optimize algorithms.
• Model power electronics in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Work on LV/HV applications in appliances or automotive domains.
• Write clean Embedded C code for ARM MCUs.
• Lead technical guidance for team members where needed.
• Collaborate with onsite teams for issue resolution.
