Job summary

Mechademy is seeking an Onboarding Technical Team Lead for rotating equipment to serve as the technical authority on onboarding assets for the Turbomechanica platform. You will ensure data quality, oversee datasheets and tag lists, and guide junior engineers in applying Mechademy standards for diagnostic accuracy and reliability.

The role requires deep turbomachinery knowledge, extensive plant documentation experience, and the ability to anticipate downstream diagnostic challenges.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of industrial experience in rotating equipment engineering, design, performance or diagnostics in LNG, refinery or petrochemical sectors.
• Experience with compressors, turbines, engines, pumps, and related turbomachinery.
• Expert ability to review P&IDs, PFDs, HMBs and OEM manuals with API standards.
• Familiarity with plant data systems such as DCS, SCADA or OSIsoft PI.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical reviews and approvals of equipment datasheets, OEM documents, P&IDs, and tag lists.
• Provide senior-level oversight for compressors, turbines, engines, pumps, and turbomachinery.
• Mentor and guide junior onboarding engineers while establishing best practices.
• Collaborate with remote monitoring, data science and software teams as the senior technical interface for clients.

Onboarding Technical Team Lead-Rotating Equipment (Level 3 / SME)

About the Role This role is for a senior domain expert who understands that great diagnostics start with great onboarding. As the Onboarding Technical Team Lead (L3) at Mechademy, you will serve as the technical authority for onboarding rotating equipment onto the Turbomechanica platform. You will own the technical quality of all onboarding inputs - equipment datasheets, design and operating documentation, tag lists, and data mappings - ensuring that assets are deployed with the rigor required for high-fidelity physics-based and data-driven diagnostics. You will act as the SME guiding junior onboarding engineers, reviewing and approving their work, and ensuring that every deployed asset meets Mechademy’s standards for diagnostic accuracy, reliability, and long-term scalability. This role requires deep rotating equipment knowledge, strong plant documentation experience, and the judgment to anticipate downstream diagnostic challenges before they occur.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical reviews and approvals of equipment datasheets, OEM documents, P&IDs, and tag lists.
• Provide senior-level oversight for compressors (screw, centrifugal, reciprocating), gas engines, turbines, and pumps.
• Mentor and guide junior (L1/L2) onboarding engineers while establishing best practices.
• Collaborate with remote monitoring, data science, and software teams while acting as the senior technical interface for clients.

Requirements & Experience:

• 7–12 years of industrial experience in rotating equipment engineering, detailed design, performance, or diagnostics within LNG, refinery, or petrochemical sectors.
• Demonstrated experience working with compressors, turbines, engines, pumps, and related turbomachinery.
• Expert ability to review P&IDs, PFDs, H&MBs, and OEM manuals, coupled with a working knowledge of API standards (API 610, 614, 616, 617, 618, 619, 670, 671, 684, 692).
• Familiarity with plant data systems such as DCS, SCADA, or OSIsoft PI.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
