About the Role

We are hiring an experienced OLS Software Developer to contribute to the design and development of a ORM's next-generation Optical Line System (OLS) software. The developer will work closely with the Lead Engineer and Architect to implement, integrate, and validate software modules for optical line systems. A strong background in embedded C++ development and telecom/optical systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop software modules for OLS lineside functionality under guidance of the Lead Engineer.
• Implement features per detailed low-level design specifications.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented C++ code following coding standards.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprint ceremonies.
• Collaborate with the test team on unit and integration test support.
• Debug and resolve software defects across development and integration phases.
• Contribute to software documentation including design documents and user guides.
• Work within Agile Scrum teams to meet sprint and release commitments.

Technical Requirements

• Solid knowledge of optical networking concepts: DWDM, amplifiers, ROADM, OTDR.
• Proficient in C++ and object-oriented programming.
• Hands-on experience with embedded Linux development.
• Understanding of multi-threaded programming and real-time system constraints.
• Familiarity with network management protocols (NETCONF, YANG, SNMP).
• Experience with debugging tools, GDB, Valgrind, or similar.
• Comfortable with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to telecom or optical embedded platform development.

• Good communication and collaboration skills within a distributed team.
• Ability to understand and implement from detailed technical specifications.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have
