Resource Informatics Group, Inc is seeking a Senior RPG Developer (IBM i / AS400) with Boomi and EDI to remotely support enterprise applications. You will develop RPG-based solutions, optimize DB2 for i, and drive JDE integration projects.

Requirements include 12+ years of hands-on RPG development, IBM i expertise, and experience with Boomi and EDI. This role involves collaboration with multiple teams and flexible remote work for a six-month engagement.

Qualificações

• 12+ years of experience required.
• Strong hands-on RPG development experience (RPG, RPG IV, RPGILE, RPGILE free format, SQLRPGLE).
• Deep knowledge of IBM i / AS400, libraries, objects, queues, CL, and job scheduling.
• Experience with DB2 for i, embedded SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with DDS, files, data queues, and message queues.
• Experience integrating IBM i apps with Boomi and JDE data structures.
• Experience with development/debugging tools: RDi, SEU, SDA, PDM, WRK, STRDBG, logs, spool files.
• Knowledge of FTP/SFTP, IFS, middleware integrations, and automated job processing.
• Experience optimizing RPG/SQLRPGLE for reliability and performance.
• Experience supporting testing cycles (regression, UAT).

Role: Senior RPG Developer (IBM i / AS400) with Boomi and EDI

Location: Remote

As a Senior RPG Developer (IBM i / AS400), you will make an impact by developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications on the IBM i / AS400 platform, with a focus on RPG development, DB2 for i, and JDE integration and Boomi. You will collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver reliable application enhancements, integrations, and production solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, test, and maintain applications using RPG, RPG IV, RPGILE free format, and SQLRPGLE on IBM i / AS400.
• Develop new application functionality and enhance existing programs based on business requirements and technical specifications.
• Build and maintain embedded SQL and DB2 for i solutions, including data processing, validation, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
• Develop and support integrations between IBM i / AS400 applications, JDE, and related enterprise systems, including data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
• Troubleshoot production issues involving RPG applications, SQL queries, batch jobs, data discrepancies, interfaces, and JDE integrations.

Required Skills:

• 12+ years of experience
• Strong hands‑on experience with RPG, RPG IV, RPGILE, RPGILE free format, and SQLRPGLE development.
• Strong knowledge of IBM i / AS400, including libraries, objects, job queues, output queues, CL programs, commands, and job scheduling.
• Experience with DB2 for i and embedded SQL, including stored procedures, indexes, views, joins, triggers, and SQL performance tuning.
• Experience with IBM i development concepts, including DDS, physical and logical files, display files, subfiles, data areas, data queues, and message queues.
• Experience analyzing and maintaining legacy RPG applications, including modernization to RPGILE free format, along with experience supporting enterprise application integrations and batch processing.
• Experience integrating IBM i / AS400 applications with Boomi and an understanding of JDE data structures, interfaces, and transaction flows.
• Experience with IBM i development and debugging tools such as RDi, SEU, SDA, PDM, WRK commands, STRDBG, job logs, and spool files.
• Knowledge of FTP/SFTP, IFS, middleware integrations, file transfers, and automated job processing.
• Experience optimizing RPG and SQLRPGLE applications for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Experience supporting system integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL integration within RPG applications.
• Experience in modernizing RPG applications to work with modern front ends.
• Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).
