Job description

The Officer / Executive – Ophthalmic will be responsible for supervising ophthalmic pharmaceutical manufacturing, filling, or packing operations in compliance with GMP, SOPs, and regulatory standards. This involves process monitoring, documentation review, manpower coordination, line clearance, contamination control, and coordination with QA, QC, warehouse, and engineering teams. The candidate should have strong knowledge of sterile or ophthalmic production requirements and a quality-driven approach to patient-safe product manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise ophthalmic production, filling, or packing operations as per approved schedules and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, hygiene, safety, and contamination control requirements.
• Monitor critical process parameters such as filling volume, sealing quality, filtration, clarity, and product appearance.
• Allocate manpower, equipment, materials, and line resources for smooth batch execution.
• Verify equipment readiness, area cleanliness, material availability, and line clearance before batch start.
• Review batch manufacturing records, batch packing records, logbooks, and operational documents.
• Coordinate with QA, QC, warehouse, engineering, and maintenance teams for operational support.
• Investigate deviations, filling variation, leakage, rejection, breakdowns, and process abnormalities.
• Train operators and associates on ophthalmic product handling, SOPs, GMP, and documentation practices.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and segregation of components, bulk product, and finished goods.
• Support in-process checks, sample collection, and quality verification during operations.
• Maintain aseptic discipline, hygiene standards, and cleanroom behavior where applicable.
• Prepare shift reports, batch progress updates, and production performance summaries.
• Support audit readiness, validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure timely completion of ophthalmic batches without compromising product quality or compliance.
