Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY TECHNOLOGY SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED in Chennai, India, is seeking an Associate Project Engineer to support GIS primary offer engineering for transmission and sub-transmission systems. You will develop tender documents, drawings, and cost estimates, coordinating with Sales, Tendering and other engineering teams.

The role requires a 3–8 year background in HV/MV project design, strong CAD skills (Creo/AutoCad), and familiarity with IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in EEE or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–8 years of experience in tender or execution of substation projects or HV/MV product design.
• Proficient in CAD tools (Creo & AutoCad) and knowledge of IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards.
• Excellent knowledge of high voltage products and substations.
• Good English communication; German/French/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Sales & Tendering to develop tender documents and drawings for cost estimation and submission.
• Perform primary engineering for GIS of transmission and sub-transmission systems.
• Prepare drawings and documents for customer submission for GIS above 66kV (SLD, GIS layout, cable tray layout, earthing layout, cabling overview).
• Calculate system resistance, thermal loss, gas volume, earthing mat and cable calculations.
• Prepare BOM and cost estimation.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with quality processes.
