Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Valid state or national licensure/registration to practice as an occupational therapist.
• Excellent empathy, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments to identify residents' needs.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
• Improve fine and gross motor skills, coordination, and balance.
• Train Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding and hygiene.
• Provide sensory integration and stimulation activities when needed.
• Guide residents to increase independence in daily activities.
• Use assistive devices and adaptive techniques as required.
• Monitor progress and maintain therapy records and reports.
• Coordinate with physiotherapists, psychologists, special educators, caregivers and other professionals.
• Instruct caregivers on home-based exercises and rehabilitation techniques.
• Participate in group activities and rehabilitation initiatives within the home.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment for all residents.
• Follow home rehabilitation policies and professional standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments to identify the functional, physical, sensory, and developmental needs of residents.
  
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on each resident’s needs and rehabilitation goals.
  
• Provide therapy to improve fine motor skills, gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and functional abilities.
  
• Support residents in developing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and personal hygiene.
  
• Conduct sensory integration and stimulation activities where required.
  
• Assist residents in improving their independence and participation in daily activities.
  
• Recommend and train residents in the use of assistive devices and adaptive techniques when required.
  
• Monitor residents’ progress and maintain regular therapy records and progress reports.
