Job summary

Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust in Canterbury invites dynamic occupational therapists to join our interdisciplinary team. We offer opportunities in assessment and community rehabilitation for brain and spinal injuries, with a focus on wheelchair and seating and rehab equipment prescription.

You will be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board, hold a current Practising Certificate, and be willing to travel.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board and hold a current Practising Certificate.
• Experience in brain injury or spinal cord injury rehabilitation is desirable but training can be provided.
• Knowledge of ACC contracts would be preferable but not essential.
• Wheelchair and seating accreditation is desirable but not essential.
• A valid and clean driver’s licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and rehabilitation services across Canterbury, focusing on wheelchair and seating and other rehab/community equipment prescription.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team to support clients and families in achieving goals and independence.
• Be willing to travel and manage time effectively to meet client needs.

We have a number of exciting opportunities for enthusiastic occupational therapists (OT) to join our highly skilled interdisciplinary team. We provide a range of assessment and rehabilitation services across Canterbury, specialising in complex injuries. Our client group varies from traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, amputation and multi-trauma to general orthopaedic injuries, covering all ages. We currently have opportunities within our assessment team (working in wheelchair and seating and other rehab/community equipment prescription) and in our community rehabilitation service.
