Job summary

The Corporate Institute in Mumbai seeks a Senior Associate for Investment Banking to join the Financial Modelling and Analytics team. You will support bankers with M&A, LBO, and MBO modelling, develop and test complex financial models, and prepare valuation reports and strategic data analyses.

You will conduct rigorous research, craft end-products for clients, and manage ad hoc projects to deliver high-quality outputs that meet client expectations.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting (CA) or Business with 4 years of related experience.
• 3+ years direct experience in utilizing valuation techniques and methodologies (DCF, Income approach, market comps) within a valuation firm, venture capital, investment banking, or corporate finance.
• Experience in financial modeling including building models from scratch in MS Excel and related software.
• Preferable progress towards CFA, ASA, CPA or related certification.
• Excellent analytical, project management, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support bankers in transaction modelling for M&A, LBO, MBO.
• Develop integrated financial models (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet) from scratch and analyze outputs.
• Test models per quality control procedures.
• Build valuation models and reports (DCF, comps, EVA).
• Create data analysis models for senior management decision-making.
• Conduct primary and secondary research to support engagement strategies.
• Prepare structured end-products (memos, spreadsheets, reports, presentations).
• Complete ad hoc research and business development projects as needed.

Senior Associate – Investment Banking

Candidate will join the Financial Modelling and Analytics team, supporting bankers in several areas such as follows:

• Transaction (M&A, LBO, MBO) Modelling
• Develop models (incl. integrated P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet models) from scratch and carry out the analysis of the outputs of models
• Carry out testing of models as per NVS quality control procedures
• Building valuation models and reports using DCF, comparable company valuation, EVA analysis, etc.
• Build, maintain and improve complex data analysis models that help the senior management of our clients track their business and take strategic decisions
• Craft effective search strategies and gather relevant information and data leveraging a broad set of resources, utilizing both secondary and primary research sources and techniques
• Communicate research results through the creation of structured end-products (memos, spreadsheets, reports, presentations, etc.)
• Complete ad hoc research, knowledge building and business development projects as necessary
• Output is of high standard and the client is satisfied

To qualify, a candidate must have:

• A post graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting (CA) or Business with 4 years of related work experience
• A minimum of 3 years direct experience in utilizing Valuation techniques and methodologies such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Income Approach, market comparable, etc within a business valuation firm or practice or in venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking, financial research, national valuation firm or experience working in a corporate finance role for an organization, preferably for M&A activities
• Experience in financial modeling including experience building models from scratch in MS Excel and related software preferred
• Preferable achievement in or significant progress towards a CFA, ASA, CPA or related certification
• Excellent analytical, project management, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
• Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary
