Job summary

EY-CF is seeking a Manager to lead business valuations with a strong digitization focus in Hyderabad. You will manage engagements across industries, build scalable models, and apply analytics to drive insights for financial reporting, M&A and strategy.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with EY offices globally, and deploy automated dashboards using Power BI and Python to enhance delivery quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 8-14 years of related work experience in valuation

We are looking for Managers with broad expertise in Business Valuations and applied digital analytics to join EY-CF. In addition to strong valuation and digital capabilities, candidates with sector expertise in Energy (Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas), Banking & Capital Markets (BCM), or Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) are strongly preferred.

Role & responsibilities -

• Lead and manage business valuation engagements across industries, including valuations of businesses, intangible assets, securities and other financial interests for financial reporting, transaction, tax, regulatory and strategic purposes.


• Exposure to engagements for intangible business valuations for management planning; mergers and acquisitions (M&A); financial reporting; tax and regulatory compliance; restructuring and reorganization; and corporate strategy.


• Experience with secondary research, report writing and detailed financial modelling.


• Maintain and develop positive, productive, and professional relationships with EY offices globally


• Supervise, develop and mentor professionals at the Staff and Senior level.


• Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided.


• Lead the use of data analytics and digital tools to interrogate large and complex datasets, identify trends and outliers, and translate findings into defensible valuation insights.


• Oversee the design, review and deployment of valuation models, automated workflows and dynamic dashboards using advanced Excel/VBA and tools such as Power Query, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL or Python, as relevant to the engagement.


• Drive the standardization and automation of recurring valuation analyses, data preparation and reporting while maintaining appropriate governance, review controls, documentation and auditability.


• Coach engagement teams on the effective use of valuation technology and promote reusable digital solutions that improve quality, consistency and delivery efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile -

• A post graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting (CA) or Business with 8-14 years of related work experience


• 8-14 years direct experience in utilizing Valuation techniques and methodologies such as Purchase Price Allocations (PPA), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Income Approach, market comparable, etc. in a business valuation firm or practice or in venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking, financial research, national valuation firm or experience working in a corporate finance role for an organization, preferably for M&A activities Experience in financial modelling including experience building models from scratch in MS Excel and related software preferred


• Demonstrated experience applying analytics, automation or visualization within valuation, financial modelling, transaction or corporate finance engagements. Candidates should be able to evidence both strong valuation execution and practical use of digital tools in live engagements.


• Preferable achievement in or significant progress towards a CFA, ASA, CPA or related certification


• Apply sector expertise in Energy, BCM or TMT to valuation analyses and conclusions.


• Energy: knowledge of renewables, utilities, transmission & distribution, regulated utilities, upstream, midstream, downstream and oilfield services valuation drivers and KPIs.


• BCM: knowledge of banks, asset managers, exchanges, specialty finance, capital markets infrastructure and sector-specific valuation considerations.


• TMT: knowledge of software, SaaS, IT services, telecom, semiconductors, media and entertainment business models and value drivers.


• Perform sector benchmarking, comparable company analysis, transaction screening and KPI assessments.
