3-7 years of experience in electrical, electronics, industrial controls, embedded hardware, NPD, sustenance, testing, or related product engineering.
Practical exposure to industrial AC electrical systems and embedded electronic hardware, with willingness to build broader cross-domain capability.
Working knowledge of 230/240 VAC single-phase circuits and basic exposure to 3-phase motors, starters, contactors, overloads, fuses, breakers, relays, solenoid valves, and panel wiring.
Working knowledge of microcontroller circuits, analog and digital interfaces, power supplies, sensors, drivers, communications, schematic capture, and PCB fundamentals.
Basic knowledge of NPD requirements, concepts, prototypes, verification and release, plus VAVE, design-to-cost, BOM analysis, DFM, DFMEA, and structured problem solving.
Experience with Altium Designer is necessary.
Ability to assemble, wire, solder, test, measure, debug, and document accurately, including harness fabrication and PCBA rework.
Clear communication and willingness to present design rationale, test data, cost trade-offs, and findings.
Exposure to UL, FM, NFPA, FCC, IEC, or other regulated product-development environments is desirable.
Practical VAVE or cost-out exposure is required; formal VAVE, Lean, or Six Sigma training is an advantage.
We are seeking a hands-on NPD & VAVE Electrical Engineer, with 3-7 years of experience, to contribute to both new product development and value-engineering programs across industrial AC controls and embedded controller electronics used in Potter Fire Suppression and nitrogen-generation products. The role supports requirements analysis, circuit and wiring design, component selection, prototype development, board bring-up, verification, engineering release, and lifecycle improvement. Practical exposure to AC motors and control panels and low-voltage embedded hardware is required, with deeper experience permitted in one area. Participation in both NPD and VAVE or cost-reduction projects is mandatory; the role is not limited to teardown, costing, or documentation.
