Job summary

Availity is seeking an experienced NOC Team Lead to oversee 24x7 operations and manage incident response. You will drive NOC leadership, ensuring effective and timely resolution of incidents.

The ideal candidate has 10-12 years of NOC experience and a strong background in AWS and Azure platforms. This role requires hands-on operational knowledge and a history of effective incident management.

Shift model includes 24x7 rotational shifts with video camera use required for virtual meetings.

  • Proven experience as a Shift Lead, Senior Escalation Engineer, or Acting Team Lead in a 24x7 environment.
  • Strong background in incident command, escalation management, and operational coordination.

Job description

NOC Team Lead

Availity is a leading health information network in the United States, processing more than 4 billion transactions annually and connecting over two thousand technology partners to health plans nationwide.

Responsibilities
  • Own the on‑shift operational leadership of the NOC, driving advanced day‑to‑day operations and serving as the shift commander.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for P1 and P2 incidents, leading advanced incident triage, stabilization, and service restoration.
  • Own and maintain the 24x7 NOC shift roster, ensuring continuous coverage across all networks and services.
  • Coordinate Major Incident Management activities with the Operations Center and Incident Managers.
  • Enforce strict adherence to NOC SOPs, runbooks, escalation matrices, and communication standards.
  • Validate incident timelines, stakeholder communications, and closure quality within ITSM tools.
  • Make real‑time operational decisions to minimize customer impact and restore services rapidly.
  • Oversee real‑time monitoring across network, cloud, server, database, and Kubernetes platforms, ensuring alerts are actionable and responded to within SLAs.
  • Identify alert noise, monitoring gaps, and tooling deficiencies; drive immediate corrective actions and dashboard accuracy.
  • Direct and prioritize work for NOC engineers during assigned shifts.
  • Mentor and coach engineers during live incidents and complex troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, coverage, and overlap during shift transitions; deliver structured shift handovers.
Technical Expectations (Hands‑On)
  • Advanced operational knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including VPC/VNet routing, DNS, load balancers, security groups/NSGs.
  • Lead advanced triage across Linux and Windows servers and cloud infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS) and containerized workload health.
  • Operational understanding of cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Validate safe, documented change activities and emergency remediation actions.
  • Monitoring & tooling: AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Splunk, Grafana/Prometheus, ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms.
Eligibility
  • 10–12 years of experience in NOC, Infrastructure Operations, or Cloud Operations roles.
  • Proven experience as a Shift Lead, Senior Escalation Engineer, or Acting Team Lead in a 24x7 environment.
  • Strong background in incident command, escalation management, and operational coordination.
Preferred Certifications
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect
  • ITIL Foundation (preferred)
  • Networking certification (CCNA or equivalent)
Shift Model

24x7 rotational shifts with structured handovers and defined escalation ownership.

Camera Policy

Video camera use is required for all virtual meetings. Candidates unable to use camera for all virtual meetings should not apply for this role.
