Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking an NOC Engineer in a 24/7 shift to provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for escalated incidents. You will analyze logs, configurations, and scripts, apply fixes, and ensure service restoration within SLA while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 years of NOC/IT operations experience, strong Windows/Linux and networking knowledge, and familiarity with AWS/Azure and ITSM tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science.
  • 3-6 years of experience in NOC or IT operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux OS and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with monitoring and ITSM tools.
  • Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot application/service issues.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve incidents escalated by Level 1.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics using logs, configurations, and scripts.
  • Apply fixes or temporary workarounds to restore services.
  • Escalate critical or widespread issues to Incident Manager.
  • Collaborate with application, network, and infrastructure teams during major incidents.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolution details.
  • Contribute to knowledge base and SOP improvements.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

The NOC Engineer provides advanced troubleshooting and resolution for escalated incidents. This role involves deeper analysis, applying fixes or workarounds, and ensuring service restoration within SLA. This role requires working a 24/7 rotational shift.


You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Investigate and resolve incidents escalated by Level 1.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics using logs, configurations, and scripts.
  • Apply fixes or temporary workarounds to restore services.
  • Escalate critical or widespread issues to Incident Manager.
  • Collaborate with application, network, and infrastructure teams during major incidents.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolution details.
  • Contribute to knowledge base and SOP improvements.

Skills You Bring:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux OS and networking fundamentals.
  • Good knowledge of AWS, Azure, Cloud computing.
  • Experience with monitoring and ITSM tools.
  • Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot application/service issues.
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python preferred).
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science.
  • 3-6 years of experience in NOC or IT operations.
