Job summary

SYSTRA India is seeking a Safety Officer to reinforce HSE compliance at the Surat Metro project site. The role focuses on implementing policies, conducting inspections, and maintaining all safety records to ensure safe operations.

The candidate should hold an Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety with a relevant graduate background and be able to lead toolbox talks and safety trainings for workers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline with Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety.
• Experience implementing HSE policies and safety guidelines.
• Ability to conduct toolbox talks and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation of HSE policies, procedures and statutory requirements at Surat Metro project site.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and report unsafe acts/conditions.
• Maintain safety records, incident reports, toolbox talk records, training records, PPE issuance register.
• Ensure compliance with Metro Rail safety guidelines, MoHUA norms, and client requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions and safety training for workers, staff and subcontractors.
• Promote safety culture and awareness across the site.
• Coordinate with project team for timely closure of safety observations.
• Check usage of PPEs and safety of tools, equipment, scaffolding, electrical installations.
• Ensure barricading, signage, and traffic management as per site plan.
• Liaise with client, PMC, and project team on all safety matters.
• Participate in safety meetings and audits.
