Area 83 is looking for a dedicated Hotel/Resort Night Manager to oversee operations during the night shift. In this role, you will ensure guest safety and satisfaction while managing the night staff and operations.
The ideal candidate has strong communication and problem-solving skills, previous experience in a supervisory role, and is fluent in English, Hindi, and Kannada. This position requires working night shifts and ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards.
The role of a Hotel / Resort Night Manager is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of a hotel during the night shift. A Hotel Night Manager is responsible for the safety and security of guests, staff and the building itself. They are required to have excellent communication and problem-solving skills as they may be required to deal with unexpected situations during their shift.
Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the Hotel / Resort making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the employee guidelines, hotel policies and procedures, coaching, training and correcting where needed.
Handle late check-ins and early check-outs, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
Direct and oversee all hotel operations during the night shift to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
Check accommodations, make sure any special requests are carried out accordingly, greet guests upon arrival, and ensure escort to accommodations if appropriate.
Always maintain a professional and high-quality service-oriented environment.
Act as manager on duty for the hotel in the absence of the Management dealing with complaints, problem-solving, disturbances, special requests, and any other issues that may arise.
Manage the night shift in the department ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate Front Office activities with other departments.
Required to welcome our guests to the hotel in a friendly and helpful manner and ensure that the public areas are kept clean and tidy.
Occasionally Assist guests with their luggage, be a point of contact for our guests, valet park guests’ cars, and other responsibilities to ensure all requirements are met during our guest’s stay.
Ensure the hotel is clean and well-maintained, especially during the quieter hours of the night.
Should Show Initiative, Problem Solving, Staff Training, Team Leading. Supervise night shift staff, ensuring they are performing their duties effectively and efficiently.
Conduct Briefing for all staff during the Night Shift and inform all Overnight staff of nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests.
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel/Resort.
Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate supplies are available.
Ensure compliance with hotel /Resort legal requirements.
Respond to any emergency situations that may arise, such as medical emergencies or fire alarms.
Keep accurate records and documentation of all activities and events during the night shift.
Demonstrate leadership skills and be able to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and the hotel property. Be aware and able to enforce all fire-life safety procedures. Report any suspicious persons, activities, and/or hazardous conditions to the Security department.
Conduct nightly audits, balancing financial transactions and generating reports for the daytime management team and ensure the accurate completion of the daily night audit in a timely fashion.
Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
Previous experience as a Night Auditor/Front Desk.
Possess a good command of the English, Hindi, Kannada languages and the ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate with guests, both in person and by telephone.
Considerable knowledge of computer systems for registration, reservations and backup systems.
Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
A training in the hospitality industry is a plus.
Previous experience in a leadership role.
Must be available to work night shifts each week from 10.00 pm until 8.00 am anytime from Monday to Sunday.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical to ensure they are fit to work overnight.
Salary dependent on experience.
