Job summary

Morgan Stanley in India seeks an Associate in the Legal & Compliance division to support the New Product Approval (NPA) process across global lines, with emphasis on the EMEA region. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required with at least 2+ years of experience in an analytical role within the financial services industry.
  • Experience with or knowledge of AI related tools is a strong plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of MS Access and VBA/Macros is advantageous.

  • Support internal audit reviews, regulatory examinations and related remediation activities.

Job description

We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in the Legal and Compliance division.

In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm’s management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is an Associate level position within the New Product Approval (NPA) team, this team The NPA Department governs the process around the review and approval of new product initiatives across all Firm business lines globally to ensure that Firm infrastructure and control groups confirm support capabilities and validate that risk is adequately managed. The Department reports on new product activity to the Firm's business risk management organizations, infrastructure groups and senior management on a regular basis. In addition, the Department is responsible for routine reporting to enterprise level governance committees and engages with regulators as required.

What you’ll do in the role:

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Bachelor's Degree required with at least 2+ years of experience in an analytical role within the financial services industry

  • Good understanding of and familiarity with financial services industry preferred

  • Basic knowledge of products/services related to sales and trading, investment banking, investment management and wealth management preferred

  • Experience with or knowledge of AI related tools is a strong plus

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and significant workloads in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Sound judgement with the ability to identify, assess, and escalation issues appropriately

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative team-oriented approach

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of MS Access and VBA/Macros is advantageous

  • Comfortable working in a Windows/365 environment and able to quickly learn proprietary applications and platforms such as JIRA and Cognos

  • Exposure to GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) and their practical application in business processes, testing, or workflow optimization is preferred

Coverage

Monday to Friday from 11.30 AM to 8.30 PM India time with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters (including India Public Holidays).
