Job summary

Bajaj Auto in Maharashtra seeks an experienced Vehicle Test Engineer to drive testing for ICE and EV commercial vehicles. You will lead vehicle durability, performance benchmarking and validation activities across 2W/3W/4W programs with emphasis on test procedures and data-driven decisions.

Ideal candidates have a BE/B.Tech and 5–15 years in vehicle testing, with strong hands-on testing, problem solving and project coordination skills to ensure rigorous validation and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech from reputed University / Institute.
• Minimum 5 years and maximum 15 years experience in vehicle testing domain.
• Age 25 to 38 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage vehicle proto build and ergo buck development.
• Handle durability, performance, benchmarking and vehicle assessments.
• Create detailed vehicle level validation plans and acceptance criteria for tests.
• Track project and interface issues.
• Streamline durability, performance and benchmarking processes.
• Perform CAN data analysis and drive issue resolution.
• Monitor total cost of ownership.
• Analyze project-level issues and provide resolutions.
• Improve operational efficiency continually.
• Conduct vehicle subjective assessments.
• Carry out performance trials like acceleration, drivability and brake tests.
• Decide testing types, specify test procedures and instrumentation for 2W/3W/4W designs.

Role:

To manage vehicles, build and testing (performance and durability) activities for ICE & EV commercial vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Vehicle proto build and ergo buck development.
• Manage vehicle durability, performance, benchmarking and vehicle assessments
• Create detailed vehicle level validation plans and support the development of acceptance criteria for vehicle level validation tests
• Project and interface issue tracking.
• Streamline processes related to durability, performance & benchmarking
• CAN data analysis, pinpoint issues & put efforts for their resolution
• Monitor cost of ownership
• Project level issue analysis and its resolution
• Continuous efforts to improve operation efficiency
• Vehicle subjective assessment
• Carry our performance trials like acceleration, drivability and brake trial
• Responsible for making decisions on types of testing, specify test procedures, instrumentation and hardware used in the testing of designs 2W /3W/4W

Competency Requirements

Technical/ Functional:

• Should be familiar with automobile vehicle terminologies & functionalities.
• Relevant experience of 15-20 years in vehicle testing domain of 2W /3W/4W.
• Exposure to evaluation systems and process of countermeasures.
• Familiar to all Standards/ Regulations.
• Hands on experience on vehicle performance tests like brake test, power train cooling performance, coast down, vehicle handling etc.
• Knowledge of EV components
