Job summary

Math Asthal Bohar seeks an on-call Neurologist to provide expert consultation for neurological complaints and emergencies. The role includes evaluating headaches, dizziness, seizures, stroke risk, and coordinating urgent referrals and follow-ups.

The specialist will review CT/MRI findings, guide investigations, and ensure timely hospital transfers while maintaining patient confidentiality and comprehensive documentation.

Qualifications

• Must perform thorough neurological examinations and clinical assessments.

Responsibilities

• Provide neurological consultation on an on-call basis.
• Assess patients presenting with neurological symptoms and disorders.
• Evaluate conditions such as headache, migraine, dizziness, seizures, neuropathy, weakness, tremors, and other neurological complaints.
• Identify and provide initial management guidance for neurological emergencies.
• Assess suspected stroke and advise on urgent referral and management.
• Evaluate seizure-related emergencies and provide appropriate medical guidance.
• Review relevant diagnostic investigations, including CT/MRI reports, where applicable.
• Advise on appropriate investigations, treatment, and follow-up.
• Provide specialist consultation based on referrals from the University Medical Officer.
• Identify cases requiring hospitalisation, advanced investigations, or specialist intervention.
• Coordinate timely referral and transfer of emergency neurological cases to appropriate hospitals.
• Guide the University medical team regarding neurological emergencies and patient management.
• Provide follow-up advice where required.
• Maintain appropriate medical documentation and patient confidentiality.
• Remain available for urgent neurological consultation as per the mutually agreed on-call arrangement.
• Perform other specialist medical responsibilities as assigned by the competent authority.
