Job summary

3M is seeking a Network Security Senior Manager in Bangalore to lead a global team of security analysts and engineers. The role focuses on designing and deploying security architectures across on-prem and cloud, with a strong emphasis on policy design, automation, and governance.

You will mentor engineers, drive security programs globally, and ensure compliance with major standards while coordinating with cross-functional teams in APAC and worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the global network security strategy aligned with enterprise cybersecurity and business objectives.
• Provide leadership across Network functions for APAC and the global IT team while collaborating with other technologies for a strategic viewpoint for 3M IT.
• Manage the global team responsible for architecting and deploying Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls in complex environments.
• Lead policy design and optimization leveraging App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, URL Filtering, Threat Prevention, WildFire, DNS Security, DLP, and best practice security profiles.
• Design and manage HA/cluster configurations, L2/L3 deployments, virtual wire, NAT, zone-based segmentation, and micro-segmentation strategies.
• Build Strata Cloud Manager strategy: device-group/template hierarchy, shared policies, configuration governance, commit workflows, and role-based access control.
• Manage software license compliance for assigned tools and services.
• Define and maintain architecture and standards of assigned environments.
• Collaborate with architecture and cloud teams on hybrid connectivity, including secure peering, SD-WAN, and cloud firewalling across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, firmware lifecycle management, and hardware refresh strategy.
• Champion security standards and compliance (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOX, GDPR) and lead audit readiness for network security controls.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and change plans, and contribute to training and - Define and enforce configuration baselines using tools like Expedition, BPA (Best Practice Assessment), and IronSkillet; manage exceptions.
• Drive network automation initiatives: develop repeatable workflows and infrastructure-as-code for firewall and network configuration using APIs and automation toolchains.
• Providing consulting and guidance on assigned tools and services.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Network Security Senior Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. You will serve as the global manager for a global team of security analysts and engineers that support IPS/IDS, firewalls, and Network Traffic Analytics. This position is global in nature and may require occasional evening or weekend hours.

Here, you will make an impact by:

• Develop and execute the global network security strategy aligned with enterprise cybersecurity and business objectives.

• Provide leadership across Network functions for APAC and the global IT team while collaborating with other technologies for a strategic viewpoint for 3M IT.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

• Minimum of 12 years of networking or IT security experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with programming or scripting

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading/managing teams

• Experience defining and executing enterprise-level cybersecurity strategies.

• Experience leading global teams and programs & working in multi-cultural environments

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
