Job summary

Hamilton Barnes ? is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design and operate EVPN/VXLAN fabrics for large-scale AI cloud infrastructure.

You will work hands-on with Cumulus Linux, troubleshoot at the kernel level, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver deterministic, scalable data-center networking solutions. The role requires strong CCIE-level expertise, production design experience, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• CCIE R&S and/or CCIE DC level knowledge or strong hands-on Cumulus Linux experience
• Proven track record designing and operating EVPN/VXLAN fabrics in production
• Expert-level BGP (EVPN, route-targets, policy, scale considerations)
• Excellent Linux networking knowledge including kernel behaviour and packet flow
• Comfortable troubleshooting with tcpdump, dropwatch, perf, bpftool, and FRR
• Solid understanding of datacenter hardware and ASIC-based switching
• Fluent written and spoken English

• Designing and evolving EVPN/VXLAN datacenter fabrics — L2/L3, symmetric and asymmetric IRB, multi-VRF, multi-tenant
• Deep troubleshooting across control and data plane: BGP EVPN, VXLAN, Linux kernel networking, ASIC behaviour
• Architecting and validating high-scale datacenter designs
• Working hands-on with Cumulus Linux and the Linux networking stack (iproute2, netlink, nftables/iptables, bridges, VRFs)
• Reviewing designs and configurations with a focus on accuracy, determinism and failure handling
• Partnering with engineering, automation and operations teams to build repeatable network solutions

The opportunity

We're partnered with a network automation platform business building the software layer behind large-scale AI cloud infrastructure. Their technology lets GPU cloud operators stand up multi-tenant networks in weeks rather than months, and they're deployed across dozens of live GPU clusters worldwide.

This is a role for an engineer who designs, builds, automates and debugs EVPN/VXLAN fabrics down to packet level — not someone who configures them from a template.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and evolving EVPN/VXLAN datacenter fabrics — L2/L3, symmetric and asymmetric IRB, multi-VRF, multi-tenant
• Deep troubleshooting across control and data plane: BGP EVPN, VXLAN, Linux kernel networking, ASIC behaviour

What they're looking for

• Proven track record designing and operating EVPN/VXLAN fabrics in production
• Expert-level BGP (EVPN, route‑targets, policy, scale considerations)
• Excellent Linux networking knowledge, including kernel behaviour and packet flow
• Comfortable troubleshooting with tcpdump, dropwatch, perf, bpftool, and FRR or similar routing stacks
• Solid understanding of datacenter hardware and ASIC‑based switching
• Fluent written and spoken English

Nice to have

• Network automation and orchestration experience (Terraform, Ansible, custom tooling)
• Exposure to GPU/AI or high‑throughput datacenter environments
