Job summary

Modern Ballistic is seeking an experienced network engineer to design and deploy Cisco SDA fabrics across enterprise networks. You will provide L3 support for complex incidents, drive permanent resolutions, and collaborate with global teams to ensure security alignment and smooth integration with existing infrastructure.

The role emphasizes fabric design, performance optimization, and documentation, with mentorship for junior engineers and adherence to Cisco security standards.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and deploying Cisco SDA architectures.
• Ability to resolve complex enterprise network issues and provide RCA.
• Experience coordinating across global cross-functional teams and implementing security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy SDA fabric, including fabric design and control-plane/data-plane configurations.
• Provide L3 technical support for complex incidents and implement permanent resolutions.
• Collaborate with existing network and security policies to integrate SDA solutions.
• Tune network performance, plan capacity, and optimize SDA fabric components.
• Maintain diagrams, guides, and runbooks for operations and deployments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Ensure operations comply with Cisco security standards and industry best practices.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Implementation: Deploy Cisco SDA solutions, including fabric design and control-plane/data-plane configurations.
• Technical Support: Provide L3 support for complex incidents, perform RCA, and implement robust permanent resolutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Integrate SDA solutions with existing network infrastructure and corporate security policies.
• Optimization: Perform network performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization of SDA fabric components.
• Documentation: Maintain network diagrams, configuration guides, and operational runbooks.
• Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members.
• Compliance: Ensure network operations and designs adhere to Cisco security standards and industry best practices.

Required Technical Skills

• Deep expertise in Cisco SDA architecture, Cisco DNA Center (DNAC), Cisco ISE, and Catalyst switching platforms.
• Strong command of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VXLAN, and LISP.
• Good to have: Network automation/programming using Python, Ansible, and REST APIs.
• Proven ability to resolve complex issues in enterprise-scale network environments.
• Proficiency in Cisco security solutions, particularly Cisco ISE.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively within global crossfunctional teams
