L2 Level

5-8 years of experience as a Cloud Database Engineer, Database Administrator, or Platform Engineer supporting mission-critical production systems.

Proven experience managing AWS-managed database platforms in enterprise environments.

Strong Hands-on Expertise With

• AWS RDS for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL administration
• Amazon Aurora cluster management and operations
• Database provisioning, configuration, patching, and upgrade management
• Backup, recovery, point-in-time recovery (PITR), and disaster recovery testing
• Multi-AZ deployments, read replicas, and high availability configurations
• Database performance tuning, query optimization, and resource management
• Capacity planning and storage optimization
• CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and database monitoring solutions
• Database encryption, IAM integration, access controls, and security best practices
• Incident management, root cause analysis, and problem management activities
• Change management, maintenance windows, and production release support
• Automation and scripting using Shell, Python, or PowerShell
• Experience troubleshooting database alerts, replication issues, failovers, backup failures, and performance bottlenecks.

Strong understanding of database lifecycle management and operational governance.

L3 Level

10+ years of experience as a Cloud Database Engineer, Senior DBA, Database Architect, or Platform SME supporting large-scale production environments.

Proven experience leading database operations for highly available, business-critical cloud platforms.

Expert-level Hands-on Expertise With

• AWS RDS for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL at enterprise scale
• Amazon Aurora architecture, optimization, and operational governance
• Database platform design, lifecycle management, and operational standardization
• Database migrations, upgrades, modernization, and transformation initiatives
• High availability, disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and DR validation exercises
• Advanced database performance tuning, workload analysis, and query optimization
• Database capacity forecasting, cost optimization, and resource utilization planning
• Database security architecture, encryption, IAM integration, audit controls, and compliance requirements
• Monitoring strategy, observability, performance analytics, and operational dashboards
• Infrastructure automation and database operations automation using scripting and cloud-native tools
• Enterprise backup, recovery, retention, and data protection strategies

Incident command, root cause analysis, and problem management leadership

Deep expertise troubleshooting complex database performance, replication, failover, storage, and connectivity issues.
