Job summary

Gruve in Pune is seeking a shift engineer to own monitoring and first-fix for the network estate, including Juniper QFX EVPN-VXLAN fabric, MX/SRX edges, Cisco FTD HA, and ZPE OOB. You will handle device-management duties such as config hygiene and vendor coordination.

You will work closely with data center teams, track capacity, manage changes, and ensure uptime through structured troubleshooting and adherence to change control.

Qualifications

  • BE/BTech (CS/IT/EC) or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years NOC/network operations experience.
  • Hands-on Junos and/or Cisco IOS/FTD operational experience.
  • Working understanding of BGP and EVPN-VXLAN fabric concepts.
  • Change-management discipline; SNMP/Prometheus-based monitoring familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and first-fix fabric, edge and firewall alerts; perform structured troubleshooting before escalation.
  • Execute standard changes under change control: port turn-ups, ACL updates, code upgrades in maintenance windows.
  • Own device configuration hygiene: backup verification, drift checks, golden-config compliance reporting.
  • Coordinate vendor RMAs and direct smart-hands at the data center.
  • Maintain accurate asset, inventory and topology records for the network estate.
  • Track link and capacity utilisation; flag threshold breaches into capacity review.

Position summary:

Shift engineer owning monitoring and first-fix for the network estate - Juniper QFX EVPN-VXLAN fabric, MX/SRX edge, Cisco FTD HA pairs and ZPE OOB - plus the device-management duties: config hygiene, standardchanges and vendor coordination.

Key responsibilities:

Mandatory Qualifications:
  • BE/BTech (CS/IT/E&TC) or equivalent.
  • 2 - 4 years NOC/network operations experience.
  • Hands-on Junos and/or Cisco IOS/FTD operational experience.
  • Working understanding of BGP and EVPN-VXLAN fabric concepts.
  • Change-management discipline; SNMP/Prometheus-based monitoring familiarit
Preferred Qualifications:
  • JNCIA/JNCIS or CCNA/CCNP.
  • Apstra or other intent-based networking exposure.
  • Firewall operations exposure (FTD/SRX); DCIM familiarity.
  • GKE VPC-native networking exposure; basic NetworkPolicy familiarity.
  • Working awareness of Kubernetes networking constructs (Services, Ingress, CNI/Cilium) to monitor fabric-to-GKE connectivity alerts and correctly route cluster-side vs network-side issues.
