Job summary

Jaipur National University seeks a dedicated neonatal care professional to assess, diagnose and manage newborns, premature and high-risk neonates, delivering comprehensive care in line with established protocols.

The role includes managing neonatal respiratory distress, sepsis, jaundice, birth asphyxia, and other conditions; responsibilities extend to resuscitation, ventilation support, clinical documentation and collaboration with obstetrics, pediatrics, anesthesiology and radiology.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage newborns, premature and high-risk neonates.
• Provide care for neonatal respiratory distress, sepsis, jaundice, birth asphyxia, low birth weight and other neonatal conditions.
• Manage neonatal emergencies and provide resuscitation and stabilization as required.
• Provide appropriate ventilatory and respiratory support and monitor critically ill neonates.
• Perform/supervise neonatal procedures within approved clinical privileges.
• Conduct pre-discharge assessment and ensure appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.
• Coordinate with Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatric Surgery, Anaesthesia, Radiology, Laboratory and other specialties.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes, treatment records and discharge summaries.
• Follow protocols for infection prevention, medication safety, patient identification and neonatal safety.
• Counsel parents regarding diagnosis, treatment, feeding, breastfeeding, warning signs and follow-up.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, patient safety and incident reporting.
• Participate in CME, teaching, training and departmental meetings.
• Maintain professional ethics, confidentiality and valid registration/credentials.
