Job summary

Vestas is seeking an NDT Inspector (Skilled/Semi-Skilled) for its blade manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. The role involves rigorous NDT inspection of wind turbine blades, UT/PAUT testing, thermography, and on-site checks as required. You will calibrate and maintain NDT equipment, train trainees, and ensure adherence to client specs.

The candidate should have ASNT Level II with UT experience, a relevant diploma/degree, and willingness to work in shifts within a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, or production disciplines is required.
• ASNT Level II is required with UT experience.
• Candidates should be willing to work in a manufacturing environment and shifts.
• Good physical fitness for shop-floor activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily NDT inspections on shop floor and on-site when required.
• Calibrate NDT equipment and maintain records.
• Maintain NDT equipment; perform thermography, UT and PAUT in blades.
• Provide NDT on-job training and reparation of NDT reports.
• Review customer specs, prepare NDT procedures, and ensure client requirements.

The purpose is to conduct rigorous NDT inspection in wind turbine blades and evaluate NDT results to fulfill customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performing daily NDT inspection in shop floor as well as site whenever required
• Calibrate the NDT equipment with records
• Responsible for maintenance of NDT equipment
• Perform thermography inspection of wind turbine blade
• Perform Conventional UT and PAUT in wind turbine blade
• Provide NDT on job training to trainees
• Reparation NDT reports with results
• Evaluate PAUT raw data as per customer specification
• Review customer’s specifications and scopes of work, examine pipe metallurgy and prepare detailed NDT procedures to achieve specified quality
• Review subcontractors' tender documents and technical qualifications
• Assist EHS Department on subcontractor assessments/audits
• Review and approve subcontractors' NDT submissions
• Ensure that records are maintained for all NDT activities to demonstrate achievement of client requirements

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or related disciplines
• ASNT Level II required with UT Experience minimum of 3 years
• Candidates should be willing to work in a manufacturing environment and in shifts
• Good physical fitness and willingness to perform shop-floor activities
