Job summary

Monks is seeking a hands-on MuleSoft Expert and operational leader to own the integration layer for S4 Capital’s unified stack. You will bridge technical delivery with team leadership, ensuring secure, scalable integrations across NetSuite, Workday, and Salesforce.

You will guide a small India-based team, drive governance, and maintain an integration registry while collaborating with Finance, HR, and Sales stakeholders globally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on MuleSoft development with API-led connectivity.
• 2+ years leading a technical team in remote or distributed environment.
• MuleSoft Certified Developer or MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect.
• Excellent English communication with stakeholders.
• Strong REST/SOAP, RAML/OAS, DataWeave and API security knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and unblock a small integration team ensuring code quality and sprint goals.
• Oversee task assignments, debt, BAU vs transformation balance.
• Enforce API-led connectivity, data mapping, and error handling best practices.
• Design, build, and deploy secure APIs and integrations using MuleSoft tools.
• Own Anypoint Platform administration, including users and policies.

Own the development, maintenance, and strategic governance of S4 Capital's integration layer, acting as both a hands-on MuleSoft Expert and an operational Leader for a small, focused team of developers. Integrations are the nervous system of our Unified Global Stack, connecting critical Tier 1 platforms such as NetSuite, Workday, and Salesforce. This role bridges technical delivery with team leadership, introducing the governance and engineering discipline required to secure our data pipelines while supporting our long-term shift toward a centralized integration control plane.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and unblock a small team of integration developers based in India, ensuring code quality, architectural consistency, and adherence to sprint goals.
• Oversee task assignments, manage technical debt, and ensure the team balances day-to-day business-as-usual (BAU) support with critical transformation projects.
• Enforce best practices for API-led connectivity, data mapping, and error handling across the development lifecycle.
• Design, build, and deploy secure, scalable APIs and integrations using Anypoint Studio, Mule Runtime, and CloudHub.
• Own Anypoint Platform administration, including user management, environment configuration, runtime health monitoring, and API Manager policies.
• Manage integration release cycles, sandbox testing environments, and production deployment change logs.

Governance, Security & Strategy Integration

• Ensure every integration modification undergoes a documented change control process to mitigate the risk of administrative or platform outages.
• Assist IT leadership in exploring and bridging legacy architecture with future-state enterprise automation platforms.
• Maintain a comprehensive integration registry detailing all active data flows, credentials, and endpoints to support internal audit and global compliance requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Support

• Translate business needs from core functional areas (Finance, HR, Sales) into efficient integration logic.
• Act as the escalation point for complex integration errors, partnering with system owners to resolve data mismatches promptly.

Professional Experience & Skills

• 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing a technical team of developers in a remote or distributed environment.
• 5+ years of hands-on development experience within the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Mule 4 preferred).
• MuleSoft Certified Developer or MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect is required.
• Deep understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, RAML/OAS design, DataWeave transformations, and API security protocols (OAuth, TLS, API Keys).
• Exceptional English communication skills - capable of translating complex technical dependencies for business leaders and managing regional stakeholders.
