Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (Technical Leader) to drive the architecture, design, and development of next‑generation Android applications powering Panasonic Avionics' In‑Flight Entertainment (IFE) platform. In this role, you will provide technical leadership across multiple teams, own critical software modules, and build scalable, high‑performance solutions that deliver exceptional experiences to millions of airline passengers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Extensive experience in Android application development using Kotlin.
• Expert knowledge of MVVM, Clean Architecture, modular application design, and scalable feature architecture.
• Strong understanding and practical application of SOLID principles and advanced design patterns.
• Deep expertise in Android Jetpack libraries including Navigation, WorkManager, ViewModel, LiveData, Room, and Dependency Injection frameworks.
• Strong experience with both Jetpack Compose and traditional Android View‑based UI development, including custom UI components.
• Expert‑level proficiency with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, StateFlow, SharedFlow, structured concurrency, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience designing medium to large‑scale systems, API contracts, offline‑first architectures, telemetry, and feature flag integrations.
• Strong knowledge of Android performance optimization including application startup, rendering, memory management, battery optimization, and long‑running application sessions.
• Proven expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex production issues including ANRs, crashes, threading, and concurrency problems.
• Hands‑on experience with performance profiling tools such as Android Profiler, CPU/Memory profiling, Heap Dumps, Thread Dumps, Systrace, and Perfetto.
• Experience driving engineering best practices including architecture reviews, code quality, automated testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and static code analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver complex features from design through production.
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring engineers, leading technical design reviews, RFC discussions, and influencing engineering direction across multiple teams.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across globally distributed engineering teams.
