Inspirisys is seeking a skilled Level II Database Administrator to manage an enterprise SQL Server environment with ~150 instances, ensuring high availability and robust security.
You will oversee full lifecycle management, backups, DR drills, performance tuning, and compliance. The role demands strong troubleshooting and the ability to document SOPs and share knowledge with IT teams.
We are seeking a skilled Level II Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our enterprise database environment consisting of approximately 150 Microsoft SQL Server instances. This role supports critical core and non-core production applications within our data center. The ideal candidate will ensure continuous database availability, robust security, and seamless disaster recovery management.
Manage the full lifecycle of MS SQL Server instances, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, space management, and orderly startups/shutdowns.
Backup & Recovery: Execute native database backups, exports, archives, and recovery operations. Provide rapid resolution for database crashes, hung instances, or unexpected terminations.
High Availability & DR: Configure, maintain, and monitor database replication, log shipping, and disaster recovery (DR) setups across multiple sites. Active participation in regular DR drills is required.
Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance, memory structures, and network connectivity. Identify bottlenecks, distribute data/log files across drives, and execute performance tuning plans.
Security & Compliance: Implement advanced database security features such as encryption, masking, and redaction. Manage user access control, permissions, and session-level audits while closing audit findings on time.
Replication Tools: Support and monitor data replication workflows utilizing tools like GoldenGate or Qlik.
Incident Management: Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents, analyze trend patterns of repeat alerts, and build risk mitigation plans.
Documentation & Operations: Maintain rigorous daily checklists, draft database action plans, record activity logs, and create/update standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration across multi-server production environments.
Secondary Databases: Basic operational knowledge of open-source databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and IBM DB2.
Replication Tools: Familiarity with GoldenGate or Qlik replication utilities.
Infrastructure Familiarity: Experience with capacity planning, hardware evaluation, and integrating databases with centralized IT monitoring solutions.
Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting capabilities, analytical thinking for risk management, and the ability to transfer knowledge to internal technical teams.
Preferred Certifications:Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent legacy SQL Server certifications (e.g., MCSA/MCSE: SQL Server).
