That people-first mindset is core to how we operate, and why Knock has been honored as one Inc.’s Best Workplaces six times in the past seven years.

We bring that mindset into the work we do every day. The Knock Bridge Loan™ empowers homebuyers to ‘buy before they sell’, by unlocking the equity in their current home, giving them greater convenience, certainty, and competitiveness.

Founded in 2015, Knock has grown into a trusted partner for thousands of homebuyers and a network of 60,000+ loan officers and agents across the country. Backed by top investors like Foundry Group, Trinity Capital, and the National Association of Realtors, we’ve built a reputation for innovation and trust, earning 900+ five-star Zillow and Trustpilot reviews and an A+ BBB rating.

Processor/Underwriter aka Bridge Loan Specialist

At Knock, we put people first, value output over input, and strive to make a meaningful impact in everything we do—and the Bridge Loan Specialist role is no exception. This is a unique opportunity to contribute in a hybrid position combining traditional processing and underwriting responsibilities. As a Bridge Loan Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing Knock Bridge Loans to verify the loan is complete, accurate, and meets regulatory compliance requirements and internal underwriting guidelines. The Bridge Loan Specialist is also responsible for providing quick turn times, high-level customer service, technical assistance, and quality assurance on multiple loans simultaneously.

What You’ll Do
  • Calculate Knock Bridge Loan advance amounts using internal calculations and guidelines
  • Accurately condition loan files based on the loan application and file documentation
  • Provide consistent internal communication regarding loan status and approval updates
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with external Lending Partners, Agents, and Borrowers
  • Review title reports and homeowners/flood insurance to ensure Knock’s lien position and security interest
  • Efficiently and effectively manage and process a daily pipeline of loans while maintaining company turn times
  • Understand and stay current with all company policies, procedures, industry regulations, and other changes impacting Knock and the broader industry
  • Continuously learn and grow while supporting the development of others; serve as a mentor and resource both within and beyond your team
  • Take on ad-hoc projects as they arise and proactively support the team wherever help is needed
What You Bring
  • Successful experience working as a Senior Mortgage Loan Processor or Junior Underwriter, with a solid understanding of underwriting processes and lending systems
  • Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret and apply lending guidelines effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage many competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; a natural over-communicator
  • Proven efficiency and success in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Quick learner with an innate ability to adopt new technologies and enhance personal skills quickly through self-learning, research, and asking the right questions
  • A passion for real estate disruption and an excitement to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing growth environment and confidently share new ideas
  • Strong knowledge of various loan products, credit reports, and debt-to-income ratios
  • Demonstrated success working 100% remotely and collaborating with a distributed national team
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Belief in creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices and programs that will further Knock’s commitment to making an impact, learning, putting people first, being open, and courageous
  • We encourage you to apply even if you don’t have every listed requirement
Physical Requirements
  • Set up and constantly operate a computer
  • Communicate and exchange accurate information to others via telephone or internet video applications
