Job summary

Johnson Electric is seeking a CAM PROGRAMMER-CNC MILLING in Pillaipakkam. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of experience in CNC Milling and be proficient in CAM programming, especially using Powermill.

The role involves responsibilities such as daily shift planning, QC inspections, and basic machine maintenance. Ideal candidates should have sound knowledge of cutting tools and machining process flows to achieve precision in job settings.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience in CNC Milling operations, especially with Makino or DMG.
• Proficient in CAM programming and basic machine maintenance.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, G & M codes, and GD & T.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position:

CAM PROGRAMMER-CNC MILLING

Function:

Tool Room

Location:

Pillaipakkam

Experience:

5 to 10 years

Responsibilities:

• CAM Programming, daily shift planning & execution, electrode design, VMC operation – job setting reference, ATC settings, ATLM settings, work offset probing system, manual programming & editing.
• QC inspection.
• In-process inspection of jobs.
• Final inspection of finished job against 2D drawing.
• Process follow-up to meet targets.
• Machine maintenance and daily maintenance.
• Attending basic breakdown & repair.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in CNC Milling (3 Axis) operations, manual programming – experience with Makino, DMG preferred.
• Proficient in CAM Programming – experience in Powermill preferred.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, speed, feed, work holding devices, G & M codes, basic machine maintenance.
• Basic GD & T knowledge; exposure to conventional measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, dial gauge, bore gauge, slip gauge).
• 3D & 2D drawing reading capability.
• Tooling materials knowledge, hardness, basic heat treatment.
• Machining process flow knowledge and methods.
• Basic tool room system knowledge.

Required Skills:

• Sound skill in CAM programming with Powermill (Both 3 & 5 Axis).
• Skill in job setting (dialing, reference setting, ATLM, ATC, cutter setting, heat shrink fit holder setting, job offset probing system).
• Knowledge of cutters – solid carbide end mills, carbide tips, cutting tool parameters, cutter inspection.
• Skill in using measuring instruments.
• Capability to do complex 3 Axis & 5 Axis CAM programming – hard milling experience in 60 HRC material.
• Capability to achieve precision up to 0.002 in job setting (perpendicularity, parallelism).
