Job description

Primary Responsibilities And Accountabilities

(Key duties or essential priorities for fulfilling the job’s purpose)

• Responsible for transferring motion from a Hierarchy to another (Retargeting) independently and proficiently
• Adhering to the performance of the actors using non‑destructive modification of motion to work with the requirements of the sequence, pushing and leading to the highest quality of work
• Adjusting interaction and contacts between characters/props/environment/terrain, with a deep knowledge and understanding of human and creature motion editing
• Superb techniques and eye for blending body motions
• Improving the performance by adding fingers/toe/tail animation and body adjustments that include enhancing posture, gesture and weight
• Support and mentor more junior members of the team, troubleshooting, teaching techniques and pushing the quality and standard

Job Requirements

Education / Experience

• Computer Science, Computer Visualisation or Computer Animation degree or equivalent experience
• Expert in Maya and Motion Builder with previous experience within motion‑captured performances
• Proven experience in high‑end film VFX and an up‑to‑date showreel

Required Skills / Competencies

• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Excellent problem‑solving skills
• Expert understanding of retargeting techniques (transferring motion from one character to another)
• Solid understanding of the principles of animation
• Proactive in problem solving, with a keen eye to catch, analyze and identify technical issues
• Sharp eyes for motion, timing and posture
• Background in using Maya and/or Motion Builder
• Background in using Linux and Vicon Shogun Post is a plus
