About The House of V

The House of V is a multi-concept hospitality group in Indore with three venues, and this role works across all of them.

  • Atelier V: casual fine dining and a craft cocktail bar. This is the heart of the bar program.
  • Masala Code: pan-Indian regional cuisine, with a bar that supports the food.
  • Fabric: a nightclub, with high-volume service on club nights.
The bar program has a record you can check:
  • The World Class India 2026 winner came out of the Atelier V bar program.
  • The bar is ranked among the Top 100 Bars in India, 2026 (30Best Bars)
  • It is the only bar in Central India (MP, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand) that regularly hosts guest shifts with international bars.
  • No happy hours at any venue. We compete on quality, not discounts.
Purpose of the role

The Bartender serves consistent, high-quality drinks and warm hospitality at all three venues. Behind that service sit the prep, stock control and excise records that keep the bar running and compliant.

The role is part craft and part discipline. A great drink served from an inaccurate stock register is still a failure.

Key responsibilities:
  • Make classic and house cocktails to the program's specs, every time.
  • Pour spirits, wine and beer to standard measures.
  • Read guests, recommend drinks, and remember regulars and their preferences.
  • Keep the bar clean, stocked and set up throughout the shift.
  • Run opening and closing checklists.
Cocktail prep:
  • Make syrups, cordials, infusions, clarifications, batches and garnishes to recipe.
  • Label and date every prep, and rotate stock first-in, first-out.
  • Track prep levels and flag shortages before service, not during it.
Inventory and stock control:
  • Do opening and closing stock counts as scheduled.
  • Record breakage, wastage, spillage and comps the same day.
  • Raise requisitions and check deliveries against orders.
  • Report variances to the reporting manager immediately.
Liquor stock register (MP Excise):
  • Keep the liquor stock register accurate and up to date, as MP Excise rules require.
  • Record receipts, issues, sales and closing balances for every brand and bottle size.
  • Make sure the register matches physical stock at every count.
  • Have the register ready for excise inspection at any time.
  • Never make backdated or unauthorized corrections. Any correction is approved and signed.
Guest shifts:
  • Prepare for visiting international bar teams: prep, setup and briefing.
  • Work service alongside guest bartenders and learn their techniques and specs.
  • Help host guest bartenders and represent The House of V well.
Working across three venues:
  • Work at Atelier V, Masala Code or Fabric as the roster requires.
  • Switch between craft cocktail service and high-volume nightclub service.
  • Follow each venue's menu, specs and service style
Menu development:
  • Suggest new drinks, seasonal ideas and improvements to existing specs.
  • Take part in tastings and R&D sessions.
Hygiene, safety and responsible service:
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Check ID for anyone who appears under the legal drinking age of 21 in MP.
  • Refuse service to visibly intoxicated guests and elevate to the manager.
  • Follow the company's responsible alcohol service undertaking.
  • Handle cash and billing accurately and honestly.
Working hours, shifts and attendance:

A full working day is 9 hours, with a fixed weekly off every Tuesday.

  • Shifts: Rosters are set by the reporting manager and may include late finishes on Fabric club nights.
  • Peak days:Weekends, festivals, events and guest shifts are all-hands days. Leave on these days is restricted under the company's peak-day policy.
  • Attendance:Recorded on PagarBook. Punch in and out with a photo on every shift. Salary is calculated on hours logged in the app.
  • Corrections:Attendance corrections are made only with management approval.
  • Leave rules:The company's leave, sandwich-leave and absence policies apply.
Behaviours we look for:
  • Hospitality first:you make guests feel looked after, not just served.
  • Consistency:the hundredth drink of the night matches the first.
  • Integrity:stock, cash and records are always honest and accurate.
  • Curiosity:you read, taste and experiment, and bring ideas back to the bar.
  • Team player:you help at whichever venue needs you, without complaint.
  • Composure:you stay calm and courteous on the busiest night or with a difficult guest.
  • Ownership:you flag problems early and fix what you can.
Terms and conditions:
  • Probation:3 months from the joining date. On successful completion, confirmation is issued in writing.
  • Paid leave:24 days a year, available after probation. Leave on peak days needs prior approval.
  • Accommodation:not provided. The company gives temporary accommodation for the first 15 days after joining and will help the new joiner find a place in Indore.
  • Transport:not provided, including for late finishes at Fabric. Candidates should plan their own commute.
  • Place of work:any of the group's venues in Indore, as rostered.
  • Policies:the employee follows all company policies, including attendance, leave, conduct, POSH and responsible alcohol service.
  • Documents:offer and appointment letters set out the full terms.
