Job description

Minimum Experience: 1 - 3 yrs of experience in Satellite Operations preferred

About the Role

We are building the next-generation Global Satellite Constellation for highly precise and secure Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. We are seeking a motivated Mission Operations Engineer to join our mission planning team. This role requires experience in satellite operations. Day to day tasks would include planning and executing satellite maneuvers, tracking and planning for satellite orbital events, ensuring safe operation of the satellite. We want someone capable of understanding satellite sensor data, capturing anomalies and preparing responses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, test, and execute satellite operations procedures, including launch, early operations, and nominal operations procedures
  • Monitor system health and report anomalies, working with the engineering team to safely resolve them
  • Plan for satellite operation maneuvers, create a plan to use the available propulsion budget
  • Work with satellite platform and payload team to design and implement the operation modes for the satellite
  • Ensure that the orbital tube is maintained by planning propulsive maneuvers and ensuring user performance metrics are not going beyond the thresholds
  • Extend help during the mission design phase by contributing from an operational perspective.
  • Plan for fleet management by later incorporating automated pipelines to manage large fleets and develop anomaly detection methods
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics or a relevant technical discipline.
  • 1 - 3 years experience with satellite operations
  • Familiarity with data analysis methods
  • Solid foundational understanding of satellite operations, satellite architecture, orbital mechanics, knowledge of satellite sensor data, and delta V planning.
  • Proficiency in satellite operations, STK, Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages for scientific computing.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical literature, institutional ICDs, and international legal/regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with uncertain or incomplete tracking observations.
Why Join Us
  • Build the future of global navigation - Be the part of the revolution, work on a mission that redefines how the world connects, navigates, and operates in the new age.
  • Be part of the founding journey - shape the architecture of a global satellite constellation from the ground up and work directly with the Founding Team at VyomIC.
  • Collaborate with High Profile advisors - learn from and engage with senior experts who bring decades of experience.
  • High-impact, high-ownership role - your work directly influences real-world systems that demand precision, security, and scale.
  • Work alongside a world-class team - collaborate with experts across astrodynamics, signal processing, embedded systems, mission operations, ETC.
  • Grow with the mission - as the constellation scales, so do your opportunities for leadership, innovation, and long-term career growth.
