Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, finance, mathematics, or related field.
• 2–5 years as MIS Analyst/Data Analyst in Healthcare RCM / medical billing.
• Advanced Excel: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros/VBA, Power Query.
• SQL proficiency for data extraction and manipulation.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau for dashboards.
• Deep understanding of medical billing lifecycle, HIPAA, payer rules.

Position Title: MIS Analyst (Revenue Cycle Management)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical MIS Analyst with specialized experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) covering both HB and PB business. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, analysing, and reporting on key RCM metrics across the medical billing lifecycle—from patient registration and insurance verification to coding, charge entry, claims submission, AR follow-up, and cash posting. Your insights will drive operational efficiency, optimize collections, and support management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Management & Reporting:
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various RCM platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, NextGen) to generate daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
• Monitor and report on core RCM Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Gross/Net Collection Rate (GCR/NCR), Days in A/R, Denial Rate, First-Pass Resolution Rate, Clean Claim Rate, and AR Aging.
• Design, build, and maintain interactive operational and financial dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Advanced Excel for leadership and client review.
• Denial & AR Trend Analysis:
• Analyze denial trends by payer, provider, and denial code to identify root causes and collaborate with billing/coding teams to reduce future denials.
• Track A/R aging buckets (0-30, 31-60, 61-90, 90+ days) and highlight bottleneck areas to maximize collections.
• Performance & Productivity Tracking:
• Measure and report individual and team productivity metrics (e.g., accounts worked per day, charge entry accuracy, payment posting turnaround time) to support incentive structures and capacity planning.
• Ad-Hoc Analysis & Audits:
• Perform deep-dive data analysis for client onboarding, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and internal financial audits.
• Ensure data integrity, validation, and timely delivery of reports to internal stakeholders and external clients.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience as an MIS Analyst, Data Analyst, or Reporting Analyst specifically within the Healthcare RCM / Medical Billing industry.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Advanced Excel: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros/VBA, Power Query.
• Database & Querying: Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Visualization Tools: Hands-on experience with Power BI or Tableau for dashboard creation.
• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the medical billing lifecycle, payer rules (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial), HIPAA compliance, and standard RCM terminologies.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
