Job summary

Cellulose Solutions Private Limited (Celsol) is seeking a Head of Microbiology to run the microbiology lab at the manufacturing plant in Bidar, Karnataka. You will oversee product testing, hygiene monitoring, and related documentation.

The role requires 2–4 years of microbiology experience in pharma or food manufacturing, with hands-on testing, GMP knowledge, and leadership to guide a small team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FSSC 22000 and GMP requirements.
• Strong documentation discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead the microbiology lab and a team of about 4 to 5
• Test raw materials and finished products for microbial counts (total count, yeast, mould), E. coli, Salmonella, S. aureus and Pseudomonas
• Report microbial results for COAs
• Monitor plant hygiene: water, air, surface swabs and personnel hygiene
• Prepare media and manage sterilisation
• Maintain SOPs and lab records; prepare for audits (FSSC 22000 and GMP)

About the Role

The Head of Microbiology runs the microbiology lab at our manufacturing plant, covering product testing, plant hygiene monitoring and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the microbiology lab and a team of about 4 to 5
• Test raw materials and finished products for total microbial count, yeast and mould count, E. coli, Salmonella, S. aureus and Pseudomonas
• Report microbial results for Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
• Monitor plant hygiene: water, air, surface swabs and personnel hygiene
• Prepare media and manage sterilisation
• Maintain SOPs and lab records; keep the lab ready for FSSC 22000 and GMP audits

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in a pharma or food manufacturing setting

Compensation :
