Anjali T Precision in India is seeking an experienced Senior Metallurgist Engineer to lead metallurgical process control, material analysis, and heat treatment validation across forging and precision components. You will ensure product quality, process stability, and material compliance while driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

The role requires hands-on laboratory management, failure analysis, CAPA execution, and coordination with NPD, suppliers, and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in metallurgical engineering or materials science.
• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in automotive/precision manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO, ASTM standards.
• Hands-on experience with heat treatment processes and metallurgical testing.

Responsabilités

About the Role

Anjali T Precision is looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior Metallurgist Engineer responsible for metallurgical process control, material analysis, heat treatment validation, failure analysis, quality improvement, and customer technical support. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring product quality, process stability, material compliance, and continuous improvement in precision manufacturing operations.

Metallurgical Process Control

• Monitor and control metallurgical parameters in manufacturing processes.
• Ensure proper selection of raw materials, alloys, and heat treatment methods.
• Analyze metallurgical defects and implement corrective actions.
• Establish process standards for machining, forging, hardening, tempering, carburizing, nitriding, and induction hardening.
• Develop metallurgical SOPs and process documentation.

Heat Treatment & Material Engineering

• Validate heat treatment processes and hardness requirements.
• Monitor Annealing, Normalizing, Quenching, Tempering, Case hardening and Induction hardening.
• Verify material properties after heat treatment.
• Ensure dimensional stability and metallurgical integrity after processing.
• Coordinate with heat treatment vendors and internal quality teams.

Metallurgical Testing & Laboratory Management

• Perform and supervise Microstructure analysis, Grain structure analysis, Hardness testing, Tensile testing, Impact testing, Chemical composition testing and Metallography.
• Operate and manage metallurgical laboratory equipment.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing instruments.
• Prepare metallurgical reports for customers and audits.

Failure Analysis & Problem Solving

• Conduct root cause analysis for component failure, cracks, surface defects, heat treatment rejection, material mismatch, hardness variation and corrosion issues.
• Provide CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions).
• Support customer complaint investigations.
• Prepare technical failure analysis reports.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO Standards, ASTM Standards and customer specifications.
• Support PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA and SPC activities.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Maintain metallurgical quality documentation.

New Product Development (NPD)

• Support new product and material development activities.
• Recommend suitable material grades based on application.
• Work closely with NPD, Design and Production teams.
• Conduct trials for new alloys and manufacturing processes.
• Support prototype development and validation.

Vendor & Supplier Development

• Evaluate raw material suppliers and heat treatment vendors.
• Verify incoming material quality and certification.
• Audit metallurgical process capability of vendors.
• Ensure traceability and compliance of material certifications.

Production & Manufacturing Support

• Support production teams in solving day-to-day metallurgical issues.
• Improve process capability and reduce rejection.
• Optimize material utilization and cost.
• Drive productivity and quality improvement projects.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
