Job summary

Flipspaces seeks a QS/QE Engineer MEP to lead end-to-end precontract cost management for MEP packages in commercial interiors. You will prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets, perform quantity take-offs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, and develop comprehensive BOQs.

You will also handle tender documents, bid evaluations, cost optimization, and coordination with design and procurement teams to ensure alignment with project budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in MEP estimation/QS roles, preferably in commercial interiors / office fit-outs.

Responsibilities

• Estimation & costing for MEP works including detailed cost estimates and budgets.
• Tendering: prepare documents, costings, and quotes; evaluate bids and select vendors.

We are looking for a QS/QE Engineer MEP with expertise in cost estimation, BOQs, and tendering for MEP systems in commercial interior projects. The role involves end-to-end precontract cost management for MEP packages.

Key Responsibilities Estimation & Costing (MEP)

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for MEP works
• Conduct quantity take-offs for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection systems
• Develop BOQs for complete MEP scope
• Validate design inputs and ensure cost efficiency in system selection

Tendering & Bid Evaluation

• Prepare tender documents, cost breakdowns, and pricing schedules for MEP works
• Float inquiries and obtain competitive quotes from MEP vendors/suppliers
• Analyze technical and commercial bids for compliance
• Perform comparative analysis and vendor recommendation

Pre-Bid Engineering & Cost Optimization

• Support pre-bid discussions and design coordination
• Suggest value engineering options for MEP systems
• Ensure alignment with project budget and technical requirements

Coordination & Execution Support

• Coordinate with design consultants, procurement, and project teams
• Ensure MEP costing aligns with overall project scope and timelines
• Provide inputs for contract finalization and scope clarity

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems
• Expertise in MEP BOQs, estimation, and tendering
• Understanding of MEP drawings, specifications, and standards
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• 38 years of experience in MEP estimation/QS roles
• Experience in commercial interiors / office fit-outs preferred
