Qualifications

• Proficiency in Chemotherapy, including regimen selection, dosing, toxicity management, and supportive care protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prescribe and monitor chemotherapy and supportive care.
• Coordinate with Radiation Oncology and Surgical teams for multimodal cancer treatment.
• Interpret diagnostic tests and participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Medical Oncologist role based at Apex Hospitals in Udaipur. The Medical Oncologist will evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with various malignant and hematologic conditions, providing evidence-based treatment plans and ongoing follow-up care. Daily responsibilities include prescribing and monitoring chemotherapy, coordinating with radiation oncology and surgical teams, interpreting diagnostic tests, and participating in multidisciplinary tumor boards. The role involves counseling patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, and prognosis, while ensuring compassionate, ethical, and culturally sensitive care. The Medical Oncologist will also contribute to clinical protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and may support teaching or mentoring of junior medical staff.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Medicine with recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and completed residency in Internal Medicine or related discipline.
• Specialized expertise in Oncology and Cancer care, including diagnosis, staging, and comprehensive management of solid and hematologic malignancies.
• Proficiency in Chemotherapy, including regimen selection, dosing, toxicity management, and supportive care protocols.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Radiation Therapy teams and other specialties to deliver multimodal cancer treatment plans.
• Valid medical license and relevant specialist registration as per local regulatory requirements; DM/MD in Medical Oncology or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical decision-making skills, attention to detail, and commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety.
• Excellent communication skills for patient counseling, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration; ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to participate in tumor boards, quality improvement activities, and continuous professional development; prior experience in a tertiary care or super-speciality hospital is an advantage.
