Job summary

Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences in Dehradun is seeking an experienced Medical Oncologist to join our oncology team. The candidate will evaluate and manage patients with solid tumors and hematological malignancies, delivering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care.

The role requires MBBS and DM/DNB/DrNB in Medical Oncology with valid medical registration. Post-super-specialization experience is preferred, and international or national guidelines should guide

Qualifications

• MBBS from an NMC-recognized institution.
• DM/DNB/DrNB in Medical Oncology from a recognized institution.
• Valid medical registration with the appropriate Medical Council.
• Candidates with relevant post-super-specialization experience will be preferred.
• As per the NMC Medical Institutions (Qualifications of Faculty) Regulations, 2025, the academic qualification is DM/DNB/DrNB (Medical Oncology); the transition provision includes MD/DNB in General Medicine, Paediatrics, or Radiation Oncology.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, stage, and formulate treatment plans for cancer patients.
• Provide evidence-based systemic anti-cancer treatment including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy.
• Manage patients through the complete oncology treatment pathway, including assessment and follow-up.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and coordinate care with other oncology services.
• Monitor patients for treatment-related toxicities and manage complications.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment records.
• Contribute to clinical protocols, quality improvement, academic activities, and research.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and oncology protocols.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Medical Oncologist to join our oncology team. The candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with solid tumors and hematological malignancies, including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, and supportive/palliative care.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, stage, and formulate treatment plans for cancer patients.
• Provide evidence-based systemic anti-cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy.
• Manage patients through the complete oncology treatment pathway, including treatment response assessment and follow-up.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and coordinate care with Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Pathology, and other specialties.
• Monitor patients for treatment-related toxicities and manage complications appropriately.
• Provide counseling to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, prognosis, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment records.
• Contribute to clinical protocols, quality improvement initiatives, academic activities, and research.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies, oncology protocols, and patient-safety standards.

Eligibility / Qualification

• MBBS from an NMC-recognized institution.
• DM/DNB/DrNB in Medical Oncology from a recognized institution.
• Valid medical registration with the appropriate Medical Council.
• Candidates with relevant post-super-specialization experience will be preferred.
