Job summary

Medico Recruits Pvt Ltd in Pune seeks a Medical Director to lead clinical governance, treatment planning and referral decisions for the clinic.

The role requires MBBS with MD/DNB in PMR or MS Orthopaedics with a conservative practice, valid State registration, and 7+ years post-qualification experience.

Responsibilities include first-visit assessments, prescribing care courses, documenting exclusions, building referral networks, and public representation of the clinic.

Qualifications

• MBBS with MD/DNB PMR or MS Orthopaedics with non-surgical/conservative practice
• Valid State Medical Council registration
• Minimum 7 years post-qualification, including independent patient management
• Sound working knowledge of spinal decompression, electrotherapy and rehabilitation protocols
• Fluent English and Marathi or Hindi; able to explain a diagnosis to a lay patient without jargon

Responsibilities

• Conduct first-visit assessments: history, examination, functional testing, imaging review
• Prescribe and sign off each patient's course: modalities, sequence, dosage, duration, review points
• Decide and document exclusions refer out when surgery or another specialty is indicated
• Supervise physiotherapists and the chiropractor; set and audit clinical protocols
• Own clinical documentation, consent, red-flag screening and incident review
• Build the surgeon and physician referral network
• Represent the clinic publicly, including patient-education content

Medical Director

The clinical face and conscience of the clinic. Owns assessment, treatment planning, clinical governance and the referral decision.

Reports to: Founders

Essential

• MBBS with MD/DNB in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR), or MS Orthopaedics with a demonstrated non-surgical/conservative practice
• Valid State Medical Council registration
• Minimum 7 years post-qualification, including independent patient management
• Sound working knowledge of spinal decompression, electrotherapy and rehabilitation protocols
• Fluent English and Marathi or Hindi; able to explain a diagnosis to a lay patient without jargon

Preferred

• Experience establishing or running a spine, pain or rehabilitation unit
• Comfort on camera for patient-education content
• Existing referral relationships with orthopaedic surgeons or neurosurgeons in Pune
• Published work or teaching in musculoskeletal medicine

  Compensation guidance

  24 to 36 lakh per annum fixed CTC, depending on qualification and experience.
