Job summary

Aule Space is seeking an engineer to join the mechanical team, driving hardware from early design to production and on-orbit performance.

You will turn complex electromechanical systems into reality and collaborate across subsystems to enable first-of-its-kind satellite servicing.

Qualifications

• B.Tech/B.E or higher in Mechanical, Physics, Electrical, or related engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in Mechanisms/Mechatronics/Structural Engineering in aerospace/space sectors.
• Strong grasp of mechanical, electrical, electronics, controls, and orbital dynamics.
• Experience with CAD tools (NX, CATIA) and Multibody dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Develop electro-mechanical space systems from design to testing.
• Collaborate with avionics, power, and structures for integrated systems.
• Conduct design reviews, trade-offs, and documentation across development stages.
• Analyze electro-mechanical systems using classical and computer methods.
• Identify, test, and integrate instruments like IMUs, motor encoders, and power systems.
• Maintain and improve test fixtures and data acquisition software.
• Inspect and ensure quality of machined parts.

Job description

As part of the mechanical team, you will be the driving force behind the hardware, from initial design and prototyping to the final build and on-orbit performance. We're looking for an engineer with the skills to turn complex electromechanical systems into reality, and the passion to see them deployed in space. This role requires working across multiple disciplines and subsystems, collaborating with a team to develop solutions that will enable first-of-its-kind satellite servicing.

Responsibilities

• Development of electro-mechanical space systems. Includes design, prototyping, production, and testing
• Collaborate with other subsystems such as avionics, power systems, and structures to deliver integrated systems optimised for packaging, build, and operations
• Conduct design reviews, trade-off studies, and documentation across different stages of development
• Analysis of electro-mechanical systems via classical and computer methods
• Identify, test, and integrate instruments like IMUs, motor encoders, and power systems
• Maintain and improve test fixture control and data acquisition software
• Inspection and quality control of machined parts

What We Look For

• B.Tech/B.E or higher in Mechanical, Physics, Electrical, or any related engineering discipline
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Mechanisms/Mechatronics/Structural Engineering within the aerospace, satellite manufacturing, automotive, or defence industries
• Strong grasp of fundamental concepts of required fields like Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Controls, and Orbital Dynamics
• Previous experience in building mechanical systems and solving contact dynamics
• Experience using a high-end CAD software design package (\"e.g., NX, CATIA, etc.\") and Multibody Physics tools
• Strong written and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various subsystems

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with leading teams building and testing mechanisms/products for space
• Demonstrated project or professional experience in spacecraft rendezvous and proximity-operations systems
