Job summary

Pace Hr Consulting is hiring for a Manufacturing Company in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu. We seek a Mechanical Technician to troubleshoot and maintain a fully automatic production line, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.

The role requires a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and 5–8 years of maintenance experience in a similar process industry. You will lead technicians, work in shifts, and coordinate with Purchasing for spares while keeping critical spares stock updated.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Total maintenance experience of 5–8 years in a similar process industry.
• Willingness to work in shifts and stay at Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot on a fully automatic production line.
• Ensure efficient operation and maintenance of all production dept machines.
• Report major machine problems to Maintenance Manager and reduce turnaround time.
• Perform preventive maintenance in consultation with Maintenance Manager.
• Operate and set up machines during changeovers.
• Carry out workshop activities such as turning, welding, milling, power saw.
• Operate utility machines (compressors, steam gens, vacuum pumps) and maintain related utilities.
• Maintain conveyors, overhead crane, gear box, exhaust fans and chain drives.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance and manage spares stock.
• Coordinate with purchasing for required spare parts.
• Lead a team of technicians and be ready for shift work and Cheyyar stay.

Role :

• Trouble shooting in a fully automatic production line.
• Responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all Machines in the Production Dept.
• Report Major Problems of the machines to Maintenance Manager and help to reduce turn around time.
• First intervention of mechanical alarms, trouble shooting and defects.
• Prepare and ensure Preventive Maintenance in consultation with the Maintenance Manager.
• Able to run and operate production machines during change over periods.
• Able to execute workshop activities such as Turning, Welding, Milling, power saw, etc.,
• Operate all utility machines (compressors, steam generators, Vacuum pumps etc.,)
• Should be familiar with the Maintenance of utilities like Diesel Generator, Compressor, Fire Hydrant Pumps, and STP.
• Should be familiar with the maintenance of Conveyor Belts, Metallic Conveyors, Over head crane, Gear box, Exhaust fans & Chain drives.
• Should have hands on experience of TOTAL 5 -8 years in Maintenance dept in a similar process industry.
• Should be ready to work with hands during emergency & major break downs.
• Should be familiar with the operation of conventional machines.
• Should be familiar with preventive & Predictive maintenance.
• Should plan & execute the Preventive maintenance and responsible for the spares planning of all the machines & critical spares stock.
• Should co-ordinate with purchase for getting the required spares.
• Should be able to take the decision, lead the team of technicians and to have the skill of motivation. & Team work.
• Should be ready to work in shifts and stay at Cheyyar is a must.
