Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy seeks an experienced Maintenance Lead for a leading MNC in the chemical sector based in Baroda, Gujarat. The candidate should hold a Diploma in Mechanical and bring 10+ years of hands-on maintenance, safety, and project execution experience.

You will oversee equipment maintenance across filtration systems, high‑pressure vessels, dryers, and pumps; ensure LOTOTO and permit-to-work compliance; and coordinate with production, EHS, and contractors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in chemical industry.
• Experience in equipment maintenance, supervision and project execution.
• Familiarity with LOTOTO and permit-to-work systems.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, and isometric drawings.

Responsibilities

• Equipment maintenance & supervision across filtration systems (AVPF, Filter Presses, HBF, RVDF), high‑pressure vessels, dryers, pumps and lifts.
• Oversee repair, overhaul, and mechanical fabrication activities; manage utilities (compressors, chillers, cooling towers, thermic fluid heaters, RO/DM).
• Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance programs.
• Ensure safety/compliance: LOTOTO, permit-to-work (Hot Work, Confined Space, Height Work).
• Supervise piping work, mechanical installation, and fabrication; support shutdowns and commissioning; read P&IDs and drawings.
• Maintain maintenance records, downtime logs, and RCA reports; SAP-based logging.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Equipment Maintenance & Supervision

Maintenance of:

• Filtration systems: AVPF, Filter Presses, HBF, RVDF
• High-pressure vessels with agitators
• Dryers: rotary calciners, belt dryers, spin flash dryers
• Centrifugal blowers, process pumps, and material lifts

Oversee repair, overhaul, and mechanical fabrication activities

Manage maintenance of utilities such as compressors, chillers, cooling towers, thermic fluid heaters, RO/DM plants

Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance programs

2. Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to LOTOTO (LockoutTagoutTryout) procedures

Implement permit-to-work systems: Hot Work, Confined Space, Height Work

Promote and enforce safe work practices for internal teams and contractors

Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations

3. Piping & Projects

Supervise piping work, mechanical installation, and fabrication jobs

Read and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, and isometric drawings

Provide support during shutdowns, turnarounds, and commissioning

4. System Knowledge & Documentation

Proficient in using SAP for maintenance logging and spare tracking

Maintain detailed maintenance records, equipment downtime logs, and RCA reports

5. Team & Contractor Management

Supervise and guide a team of technicians and contractors

Ensure timely execution of work with high safety and quality standards

Coordinate effectively with Production, EHS, and other departments
