Job summary

Jobtailor in Bengaluru is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Simulation Engineer to drive advanced analyses for medical device design, verification, and validation, collaborating with R&D teams.

You will document workflows for regulatory submissions, leverage FEA tools (COMSOL, Abaqus, Ansys) and CAD (SolidWorks), and communicate complex results to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in mechanical/biomedical engineering with 5+ yrs in mechanical simulations
• Master's with computational focus and 3+ yrs in mechanical simulations
• PhD in related field with computational healthcare focus
• Solid Mechanics FEA experience in COMSOL, Abaqus or Ansys
• Proficiency with CAD software; SolidWorks preferred
• Experience with medical device design, fatigue/fracture predictions, non-linear/material modeling, CFD, Python, mesh generation and ASME V&V40
• Excellent communication to explain workflows to non-experts
• Education and work history must be provided in the application
• Travel up to 10% domestically and/or internationally

Job description

• Develop and execute mechanical simulations supporting medical product design and development, including device verification and validation
• Perform complex technical analysis, including numerical model development, non-linear material modeling, dynamic systems, failure analysis, structural integrity analysis, damage analysis, data reduction, data plotting, and data visualization
• Collaborate and communicate with R&D and cross-functional teams to provide insights and meet business needs
• Document simulation workflows and results for commercialization and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution, with five years of industry experience in mechanical simulations; OR
• Master’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution with a computational simulations focus, with three years of industry experience in mechanical simulations; OR
• Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution with a computational focus applied to healthcare applications
• Solid Mechanics Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling experience in COMSOL, Abaqus, or Ansys
• Experience with CAD software; SolidWorks preferred
• Preferred: experience with medical device design, fatigue or fracture predictions, failure mode analysis, non-linear and rate-dependent material modeling, Computational Fluid Dynamics, numerical methods, Python, CAD, mesh generation/manipulation, and ASME V&V40
• Excellent communication skills, including ability to explain simulation workflows and results to non-experts
• Education and work history must be provided in the application
• Travel may include up to 10% domestic and/or international
